Congratulations you work very hard I was sad for you. Funny how you can out right call things on you tube Dupes and even have videos made called “dupes” but you can’t even mention the word on IG. Weird world we live in where pronouns can get you arrested and saying the word dupes can result in lost revenue. Freedom of speech is a good thing I think

Something similar happened to Greta Beth when she started her perfume sample business. Sounds like the big fragrance houses are using dirty tricks to kneecap the dupe houses & other competitors

You'd think these brands would be unbothered in the context of the scope. Somewhat similar -- my mom had an Etsy shop where she made and sold handmade/custom pet collars and harnesses. She was doing well until her shop was deleted (and never restored) by Etsy without warning. Apparently, one of the plaid fabrics she was using was "Burberry's Plaid" or close to it (please note that this was like ONE item in her shop -- she was in no way trying to claim she was selling Burberry pet accessories). I assume it was someone at Burberry who made this happen. To a degree, I understand brands needing to protect their identity. But maybe they could at least not be f*cking MONSTERS and provide a warning to a small business before destroying their livelihood (that Etsy also profited from). It's so disgusting.

Weirdest frag I own is Night flyer by Olympic orchids. Formally known as Bat by Zoologist. This is the original scent before it was reformulated by Zoo into a different scent. NF is banana, soil, & leather. The most gothic scent ever, which oddly, works the best during the summer as it really brings out the sweet notes. I actually want to buy Fantomas because it it combines everything that I hate about perfumery, synthetic notes, metallic notes, & the note of cantaloupe, but somehow makes it enjoyable

Zoologist’s Tyrannosaurus Rex snells weird to me. It starts like Campho Phenique, then switches to smelling like a campfire.

Strangers 😍 my fav is Salted Green Mango. But I love Prin's ingenuity. Alt here and I have decants of some of these and def intrigued by others. Thank you 😘 another I love is Dancing with Strangers by 4160 Tuesdays. Going for the whole cold violet/iris goth thing but is like parma violets and dolls heads. Love it

okay so im binging your content and im now obsessed. would you consider doing a video of fragrances for mermaids, or vamires, or other mythical creatures? i feel like that would be really fun. could do a dark fae one where its all peaty and mossy and woody. a bright fairy one where its all floral, woods, greens, and candy sweet. just some ideas for videos id love to see based around scent i havent seen yet.

My 2 weirdos are: Foxcroft by solstice scents - Smells like wet dirt and rotting leaves. For when you feel like a bog witch. The other is Byredo 1996 it’s juniper iris leather patchouli. I found a quote about it going around “it smells like making out with a 90s grunge-era Keanu Reeves against a brick wall in the back corner of a dark club while wearing his leather jacket.”

After your description of Guidance, I went and read a bunch of reviews on Fragrantica and I HAD to buy a sample of it!! I can't wait to try it! I hope I love it! It sounds like people either hate it OR absolutely love it and fall in love!

The Fantomas perfume description of "techno/ robo era" strike me as interesting because there's a trilogy of French Films "Fantomas" with Jean Marais where he plays the titular character. He looks like an android a bit and he uses lots of gadgets, similar to James Bond or Batman so maybe that was the inspiration. The character itself started out in novels where Fantomas is a villain and the main character, similar to Lupin, but with the difference that Fantomas was ruthless and did stoop to murder. There were a bunch of other adaptations, but I think that the one with Jean Marais is the best-known and recognised, it's also the more ligh-hearted version where Fantomas is more of an anti-hero than a murderous villain, so there's that too.

I'm so glad you shared this b.s. glitch with us & I'd be very upset, hurt, devastated, etc. too, if I were in your position. But try not to give it any more of your attention than it deserves because it's absolute nonsense & anyone who follows you & other upstanding enthusiasts, influencers, etc, in the field of fragrance & similar subjects, knows it. I am rather "new" to the perfume world, so when I started sampling perfumes I didn't know what is more of a classic fragrance or what is more unique. One of the first perfumes I tried and instantly fell in love with was Erawan by Dusita. I think this one is kind of unique with the hay notes. And I love Jardins of Misfah

HI, a couple of things. first off, weirdest scent I purchased (only a sample) is called Abduction by The Eyes are Always There. Not really a wearable scent in my opinion more like a fragrance that is art. Interesting story behind it though, so look it up if interested. Secondly, I've heard of several instagram influencers getting suspended for the same reasons of mentioning clones yet instagram allows the clone houses on there like Oakcha and Dossier among others. Perhaps it's the word "dupe" or "clone" that is getting people in trouble??? Maybe everyone is supposed to say "inspired by"...Lovely little word games.

Loved to hear your thoughts about Fantomas. I have only a decant of Black Afgano, which sits otherwise well on my skin, but it dries down to leave a small hint vomit smell on my clothes. So nope for me, but I'm intrugued to to hear what their other fragrances smell like. And Bulgari Black is by no means a strange frag at least for me (I love the rubber scent!), would love to hear what other still continued frags would be similar to it.

May I suggest Pineward Fragrances. I purchased the entire “dram” sample set. Within are beautiful thought provoking scents. The House is based in Colorado I believe. Another is Darren Allen from Pennsylvania. I own five of the eight he offers. Vintage Novel is one of my favorite of all time. Both Houses are American Indie Niche brands. I stumbled across these and have come to love them.

I tried some of these Cheeky Smile it was a bit similar to BR540 but it was over a year ago before i knew much about fragrances. I had Deep n Desire yacht but eventually sold it because i found it eventually too fruity berry smelling. Ahh I recently purchased Amouage Guidance my favorite scent of all time smells amazing at least on me and i dont get along with complex fragrances often this was made for me

@@sweetpeafairy2255 I smelled Samhainophobia by BPAL the other day (which I think was from the Halloween collection of a previous year), and I literally said "WOW" out loud because of how unique it was. I just wanted to carry around the bottle and sniff it all day. Lol. Big downside of Zoologist is the price but Moth is the best gothy, dusty floral EVER.

Everything people say about Invite Only makes me want to try it, but theres a very high chance that sandalwood note is going to ruin the whole thing for me. The only way I enjoy sandalwood, is when its used to replicate coconut.

I don’t understand why so many people want to smell like cigarettes these days. I would sooner want to smell like a litter box. And I HATE the smell of cat waste so that’s really saying something. I ain’t trying to smell like lung cancer and despair. For me, fragrance is about trying to smell better, not worse.

I love your uniqueness and passion for perfumes. I personally refuse to buy dupes. I feel like its cheating from companies that put a lot of capital, time and effort to create and promote. I think its stealing!

A “dupe” isn’t always an intended duplicate, but something “similar” for a price point within someone’s means, kind of like lipstick companies having similar shades, that still don’t perform identically- but one may be more affordable :)

I love Ichnusa! I got a sample a while back and I've just been sniffing it every now and then because the full bottle's too pricey 🥲 I thought Secretions Magnifique by ELDO would be a good addition to this list since everything about it sounds very unusual and just out there. Also, I didn't think posting dupes is something that warrants a block! I hope you get your account back!❤

You describe Jardins de misfah as I imagined it would smell before sampling it. It’s by no means a thick, jammy rose, it’s rose water and thereby quite light and fresh…🤔

I think, it depends if you get the date note or not? It is a sweet rose, but I pick the rose note up as a watery rose like you, and then there's this sweet, thick scent of dates. I've heard some can't pick up the date note at all though.

@@basicbaroque I do perceive the date note. But like with Chloè Nomade Jasmin Naturel Intense, the date note doesn’t, in my opinion, make this a thick, jammy rose or fragrance in general. I don’t know, I was disappointed since I was I expecting something like Olivia described here :)
