It reminds of a Bolens Diablo Rouge that was made in Canada that my Dad had when he was alive. The engine and 2 tracks were in the front and you sat on a seat over the skies. It wasn't the fastest snowmobile at 40mph but it was smooth to ride and fun to drive and go places other snowmobiles couldn't. Except water..lol..just like this double tracker.

Wow I didn't know Bolens made the Diablo !@@!

Love the solution for steering. Simpler than skidsteer or differential steering. The homemade tracks are good also. A good work vehicle. Commendable!

The Imagination of the human race knows no bounds when engineers can design and build such incredibly helpful machines to help us with our daily tasks, this is fantastic, inspired and down right BRILLIANT 👍👍👍👍👍 and I do hope this machine goes into full scale manufacture.

50+ years ago, in Canada we had the Diablo-Rouge. Check it out. Very similar, and many are still in use. In fact, my neighbor has one....!

Pro's and cons to everything. Obviously this is a capable machine for getting around rough terrain with some cargo. Firewood grabbing, checking the perimeter of your estate, getting into town when the roads are not passable by normal means. But I would not enjoy spending time on it during the harsh weather. There is something satisfying about being in a cabbed vehicle.

Great price! really nice tracks, and the steering system is great, I like the return springs mounted on the rear like that, nice engineering!

Yeah, there was a Canadian version of this too, called a sno-husky, or something like that, and it wasn't made for speed, but for utility. The fact that you can haul logs with it is impressive. Trappers would be better off with a rig like this, in some respects, than a skiddoo. Low gearing is actually more useful than high speed in work situations. I actually laughed when I saw the guy went through the ice, having done that myself. Easy to work on the engine, simple design, yeah, it makes sense. But can you plow snow with it? Mount a snowblower on it? Mount a water pump on it? Mount a generator on it? It could be more useful if it had a few accessories.

That is a really great working machine! They would sell well here in North America. Considering the price of the Polaris machines, and the John Deere Gators this is a bargain and much more useful. Where do I get one!
@daltonx61772 жыл бұрын
Aaaah, you are so funny ! You think that with import costs, import tariffs, government legislations, distribution rights, and of course, profits for everyone involved up to the dealerships, which is quite normal, that this machine would still sell for 2000 bucks ? You've got to be kidding, right ? If certainly won't be sold for anything below $12. to $15. k, at least. It could still be a good deal, mind you ! 👍
@fredford76422 жыл бұрын
@@daltonx6177 If the manufacturing costs were 2-3000 dollars, a retail cost of $10,000 is quite reasonable. The cost of one trasnocean would be too costly, but a container full of such items would be marketable. You cannot expect that everyone who touches the unit will get 50% of it's value as profit. Manufacturing and distributing does not work that way. The off road atv has evolved into the side by side which cost in excess of $25,000, way too much, complex, and problematic. Most people want an off road vehicle to be functionable, reliable, and of reasonable cost. $25,000 is not it!
@daltonx61772 жыл бұрын
Guess we'll have to wait and find out. Seems like an interesting machine but everything will depend on the price point over here. 👍

Nicely done...but America had a domestic version of this back in the 20's and 30's. Farmers used them around the farm and it also had a wagon so it could transport goods and passenger. It was steered like a bulldozer crossed with a Conestoga wagon. it had reins from the laterals back to where the driver sat.
@kristiankalin70432 жыл бұрын
This is a booth simple and genious construction that can be made by any countryside genious. So it has probably been invented several times, but rarely set into serial production and never into mass production. However, the guys that made it this time has done a great thing; A cheap cargo vehicle for winter contitions.

Before you said how it was 1 piece articulated frame and steering with rear tires. I was thinking it would be perfect new wheelchair base for me and steer with skid steer levers. Keep the ideas coming for me maybe some day I can afford a workshop and parts to build a off road wheelchair

I could see this vehicle in Alaska and being better than a snowmobile for many many applications. with the size and shape of the 2nd half you could even put a put a tent on it to stay out overnight if you had to when it was necessary.

Have any of you seen the two wheeled fat tire bike. That is very light but goes anywhere. The tires are like huge inner tubes and even help it to float on it’s side similar to a Rokon. Made in Russia. They show it going up and down stairs with ease and going most anywhere with ease. Sand snow mud. It wasn’t fast but about as fast as this or faster. I would like one of those as well.

Years ago they made these. I had to operate the old ones a few times. They were much slower tho. They were known as Mule. It was a replacement for the horse for those who didn't like the modern gas or steam tractors at the time. Some had wheels some had tracks. Used plowing, mowing and many other uses. There was a series of ropes to control it ... like a team of horses. They weren't very safe at 10 mph. lol
@ozarkhobby25153 жыл бұрын
The cool thing was it was controlled by ropes...one for the clutch, two for the throttle, two for shifting and one for each left and right brakes. If you were ingenious there would be an eighth rope to work as a kill switch. It was much easier to use the horse. LMAO Two ropes....

Great machine!!
@slrs39082 жыл бұрын
Looks like it needs to have a pivot joint in the middle to allow it to twist. This would compensate somewhat for the lack of suspension...but cost would go up. Also, it could drive in the opposite direction if the steering and seat were turned around, the driver sat on the drive/track half and steered the wagon half. Just an idea. Those Ruskies are SO Inventive! Impressive.
