This film is so much better than it was ever given credit for, Bill Nighy is superb, Jimmy nail is off the chart, The rest of the class cast were superb, What else is there to say about Billy Connolly that hasn't already been said.

Absolutely one of my favourite films of all time, the songs, the acting, Jimmy nail singing the flame still burns! Very special part of my life this one!

My favourite music film of all time. I'm also a rock singer from the early '80's and though I've been told I'm wasting my time, this film articulates that feeling that our passion still burns bright and I for one will NEVER give up. Long live Billy Connelly.

Such an underrated flick. This movie passes as a comedy while gently shows a drama as human as every man trying to find if he still "has it". As Ray says: "The tragedy of people like me is that our lives peaked too early".

On of the best films ever seen. Great music. Have even the Soundtrack.

This movie is the best rock movie ever. Take notice USA and watch. You won’t be disappointed. I’ve not seen one bad comment yet. Stellar cast, good comedy, sad moments and happy ones. Underrated is an understatement.

I agree. I can't find this movie in any official store, I even asked at my local electronics store but they said I can't even order the DVD there cos Sony took it out of their catalog. Yet I have never read a negative comment about the film and I'm dying to see this! A shame not many have heard of it...
One of the best road movies ever, written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais the guitarist (Brian) at the end who probably never played a guitar before is in fact Bruce Robinson, the guy responsible for writing and directing, "Withnail and I" and he also wrote the screenplay for, "The Kiiling Fields" so deserves a little respect.

Not to mention credit to his vocals. They are believable as a lead singer, and he actually did them himslef.

It would be nice if the actor that was playing the guitarist knew how to play guitar a bit. Every scene he here pretty much he is way up the fretboard like he is holding the last note of a solo, when chords are being played. I guess that's something people that play nit-pick on. lol
