God i hate manga like the first one you talk about where it has a neat premise and cool looking characters only to blindside you with some nasty shit out of nowhere (I like to call this the Usagi Drop phenomenon). Good video though! If you wanted some more manga to read, some recent ones that i found and liked a lot were Gal and Knightess, School Back, and River End Cafe
