I caught that!! It's because some people believe they don't die, but become immortal beings in spirit bodies, which is not false. There is only one way of course to live on for eternity. Blessed are those that believe in the true way to immortality.

9:05 Just a note for those who may not know: at that time, cremation was indeed forbidden to Catholics. The reason is that Catholics do not believe that the discarded corpse is trash after the soul departs, but an integral part of the human being that should be treated with dignity and respect. Today, cremation IS allowed to Catholics-- however, the cremains must be honored with funeral rites, and interred somewhere appropriate: for example, in a cemetery, mausoleum, or in a special container heavy enough for burial at sea. In order to show respect for the dignity of each human person and for the human body, Catholics are not supposed to scatter cremains, or keep them in their home (because they might eventually be accidentally or deliberately tossed into the trash, or treated irreverently after falling into the hands of someone who does not have respect for them, or even know what they are.)

Side side note: the empty crypt with his information on it, is now what is called a Cenotaph...that is, a monument to the memory of someone who is interred elsewhere (or whose body has been lost.)

You, dear Arthur, are the Rod Serling of KZfaq. Every time I get a notification about a new Hollywood Graveyard, I make myself comfortable, get a drink and watch it on the app on my TV. You are worthy of the big screen 😉. This was one of your finest episodes so far and I eagerly anticipate what's next. Thank you for the segment on Neptune's Reef. When my time comes, I wish to be cremated and buried at sea. I had completely forgotten about Neptune's Reef and immediately sent away for the information. I'm not planning to go anywhere anytime soon but I have more years in the rear view mirror than I do in the windshield and one must be practical about these things. 😁 Looking forward with great anticipation to your next masterpiece. ❤

I don't even like the people that go to dig up Mummy's or places and dig up places and find bones leave well enough alone. How they feel if some one went in to a grave yard and dug up grandma and took stuff and body and put it on display it's all kind of odd to me digging up the body's of the past and put on display in a museum you have to get a special permit and court order just to exhume a body in a grave yard weird world?
@mendagy
@mendagy Жыл бұрын
@@daviddoyle8956 Exactly!!!! My father-in-law once caught a bunch of teenagers literally digging up his OWN FATHER'S GRAVE. The kids were all drunk and told the cops that they thought it'd be "really hilarious". He (my FIL) came this close (just a pinch between your thumb & forefinger) to shooting those stupid kids - and I don't blame him one bit! His daddy died unexpectedly of pneumonia when he was only 12 and they had to not only build his coffin & dig his grave, but all those boys had to grow up far, far earlier than anyone should have to. But the saddest part of all of it? My very own COUSIN was a part of those hooligans who desecrated the grave! This was all long before I ever met my husband (we lived in another state). Apparently, my Uncle paid a lot of 'hush money' to keep his son out of jail & the whole thing kept quiet. It was completely & utterly despicable. None of the rest of our family even knew about it until my husband told me (& that was years after we had gotten married). But I had the same exact thoughts as you when he told me. How would my cousin & all the rest of those jerks have felt had it been HIS Daddy??? So yes, I completely understand & empathize with all those whose lives & families have been hurt that way. Far too much disrespect all the way around. 😞

The story about the crypt over Marilyn Monroe is correct, however his remains were removed by his widow Elsie in 2009 and the crypt was auctioned off on E-bay for $4.6 million to an anonymous bidder. His remains are no longer in the crypt, just his nameplate remains until the new owner of it passes away.

I had a friend who passed away 20 years ago. He served as a Navy as well as a Merchant Marine. He wanted to have his ashes spread off the back of a Coast Guard Cutter in the Gulf of Mexico. His large family had a big fight over this as some of them wanted a place to visit him. The compromise was that they would divide his ashes in half where half of them would be spread in the Gulf of Mexico off the back of a Coast Guard Cutter while the interment of the rest of his ashes was in the Houston National Cemetery. So I believe that splitting of the "body" of the dead is more common than one might think.

Arthur... another absolutely brilliant episode. It was fun seeing Lily Gray here in SLC included!!! My mind is blown at the coincidence of Anton. I had the pleasure of being at his grave when his mother was there one day. My heart hurt so bad for her. My mouth also dropped at McCurdy's story. I definitely give this an enthusiastic two thumbs up and hope to see more like this! There are so many incredible stories about cemeteries and the people in them, and how cool you get to tell them!!

Another fantastic video as always. So fitting for the Halloween season. I think I could do a year in the countess's tomb. All I would need is constant light to chase shadows away, all the yarn and supplies I need to crochet whatever I want, all the music I wanted and reliable way to play it, my favorite books, plenty of pillows-blankets- and a comfy bed, and of course food, drinks, and snacks. And also my phone with internet. Too bad I am afraid to fly. Lol. Oh well.
