My photo would be a picture I found of my dad holding me on the day I was born. I never had a great relationship with him and there's a lot I never got to say. I've always had the partially-correct impression that by the time I was born my dad didn't really want me. But in that picture, which I found shortly after my 16th birthday, I saw how he was looking at me and broke down crying because I hate that he had to change and be so sad and angry. I can't be angry at what he did to us anymore, and I'm just sad I never got to see him be THAT father to me and my sister.

My favourite photo is one I took with my great-grandmother. She passed away around a year ago and the photo reminds me how good she was. Whenever I feel bad I just think about her and I remember something she said: "wherever you go, you'll be fine because you are wonderful and strong". She passed away when she was 97 and yet she was the best version of herself. I never got a chance to come out to her (because I figured it out just when she passed away) but I know she would've been proud of me and that she would've loved me the same. I rarely promise because I don't know if I'll be able to keep it but I did promise to my grandma that I wouldn't take alcohol or drugs and that I would never commit suicide (I never tried but I have thought about it) just because I look up to her and I want to live long as she did.
