Stratego Game Analysis: Road to Gold with Flag up Front - Game 11

Күн бұрынWatch the video at 1.75 x speed to save time. This is the 11th game in the Road to Gold Series with the Flag up Front. My ELO is currently 498. If I win this game, I will finally make Gold after playing 103 games in a row with the flag up front on either A4 or J4. My current record is 71 - 31. A win here would almost get me to a 70% win ratio. My opponent plays cautious at first. He makes some mistakes at the end, but I believe he figures out where my flag is located. Can he get it in time? My Marshal gets revealed early and I have a difficult time trying to find his Marshal. The ending of the game was a surprise. See if I can win, playing a poor end game.

Thanks. It was a very close game. He didn't have to lotto with his Colonel, but I don't think it was a bad move. At some point it time you have to take chances when you're behind/even late in the game. He gambled and lost. My favorite 4 piece bomb set up got him. I'm still not sure why he didn't reveal his Marshal in the game.

@Nam-William Nguyen I might show some old swap games to show people how to play them. A lot of beginners don't know how to play them. I want to do a Marshal blitz or a Fill-in the Board series too, but that probably won't happen this year.

The Stratego site shut down because they did their game programming using Adobe Flash which is no longer supported by browsers. I hope in the future, they decide to make another site. You can play Stratego online at www.gravon.de/gravon/stratego/stratego.jsp . The interface can be difficult to learn. Here's a video on how to play there: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mLiWlb1ksJ_Pk2w.html
