I'm getting my art supplies ready for an upcoming trip and am considering taking my Strathmore Visual Watercolor Journal. The Journal has 22 sheets, all 140 lb. 300gsm. This is Cold Press Paper and the pages have a good thick feel to them and appear to be an off white or light cream color. The journal is 5.5 in. x 8 in. (14 x 20.3 cm). There is a removable cover sheet over a patterned brown thick cardboard cover on the front and on the end of the journal. These boards provide a great support while you're drawing or painting and are strong enough to help prevent the journal from bending.
I sketched my customized color Winsor & Newton Sketchers Pocket Box onto the last page of the journal to test out how well the paper behaves with drawing, painting, and repeated washes. Overall, I was very pleased with how well the paper stood up to the paint and water applied.
