To me, these challenges and crazy things fall more in line with speedrunning than normal gameplay. KSP isn't really... speedrun-able, it has no end goal. But all these challenges bring out that same energy of optimization, glitch-hunting, and using different versions of the game for runs that are only possible in that version.
@Stratzenblitz75

As a amateur speed runner i can appreciate this. You should do something ridiculous with comets. I just made a comet station with a 2 mega ton comet around kerbin on hard career, took like a week of burn time with my computer just turned on and a bunch of gravity assists to minimize using the mass of the comet. It was on a -45º degree inclination and took like 14k Dv to just get there, with the limited time and all. It was fun, i should have recorded it. I keep wondering how big of a comet is possible to land on kerbin...

8:20 The oscillations you have noticed are actually phugoid oscillations. that is due to having no flight control surfaces, so your plane will dip and start accelerating, but this will increase lift and thus makes you pitch back up, but then you will lose speed until you pitch back down and the cycle repeats. you can even see the speed go up and down in the video. I think using old versions of any kind is fine, as long as it’s made clear (and if it’s a really really old version preferably at the start), but every old version was once the cutting edge and using them is still interesting.

I'm a bit late to the party but the Saturn V rocket travelled at least 384,400 km miles using 6.2 kilotons, while your rocket would be able to travel at least 3,668,900 km using 1.56 tons. That means Saturn V had a weight to distance ratio of 0.062 kilometers per pound while this SSTO had a weight to distance ratio of 1175.929 kilometers per pound, making it 18966.596 times more weight efficient than the Saturn V rocket (numbers are rounded to the nearest thousandth) (not taking into account gravity assists, orbital distance, and engine exploitations) good job man

I think it is fair game to use earlier versions! It's fascinating to see how the game has changed between updates, since these differences can be too subtle to notice in bigger rockets

This is totally fine and fun as long as it is clear that bug-mode is enabled. Also quirks around quick safe and reloading should fall in this category. Except when save/reload is used to counter bugs. Like when a base planted on a surface keeps wobbling and gliding. But still this feels like less of an achievement than for example the Jets to Orbit video, or the Duna on Electric Power one. Somehow if you know the physics are somewhat realistic it speaks more to the imagination.

Yes, I agree that this is less of an achievement than those past videos. Having some basis in reality does it make it much cooler. I'm really just having fun with this tech for now. Its not going to be a staple on this channel thankfully.
