Stawberry’s friend Orange blossom was the first cute, dainty and fairy-like Black character I saw in media, I even had a doll and several outfits with Orange Blossom and Strawberry Shortcake on them as a little girl. I was so disappointed when later designs whitewashed her but I’m glad to see that’s been fixed and she has her brown skin back in the newest iteration

I honestly love how diverse strawberry shortcake was, especially Cafe Ole and Almond Tea but also how a lot of the older generations have characters from specific places around the world. its insane that a show from the 2000s, 90s and even 80s was more diverse than some shows today.

Something that I really really liked about the Gen 2 Strawberry Shortcake characters was their love for curly hair. It made me, a girl with curly hair, feel so appreciated and it was so nice seeing my hair type so nicely made and associated with such cuteness.

Fun fact, here in Mexico she was called Rosita Fresita (rosa means pink and rose as well as being a name and fresa is strawberry, while the -ita subfix denotes something being small or cute) the 2003 cartoon aired in the morning before school and my mom adored it.

Personal Tie to Strawberry- I hold Strawberry Shortcake close to me as a comfort show (I absolutely do still occasionally watch G2 episodes as an adult). I had to get a horrendous amount of rabies shots in kindergarten, but after every appointment for another shot I got a Strawberry Shortcake doll, as long as I didn’t fight the shots which I’d never do with Strawberry Shortcake on the line. She got me through one of the hardest points of my childhood.

personal related story: when i was a toddler (around the time g2 SS released) i received Strawberry and Orange Blossom dolls. But for some reason the Strawberry doll's rooted hair fell out shortly after being removed from its packaging. Like, ALL of it just fluttered down from her scalp like prickly red snow. This was a bummer for me, because i really liked how pretty her hair was and it was a brand new doll for goodness sake!! i had no idea why this happened, but one thing was for sure- she still SMELLED good. And, as a toddler, when you notice something *smells* good, you think perhaps it also *tastes* good. So, now that she was conveniently bald.....i licked her head. thinking it would taste like strawberries. Obviously, it tasted like vinyl. But this is a core memory of mine, because it was one of the first times I had put my monkey-brain problem solving skills to work. "Hm. Smell good. TASTE good?........nuh-uh. Will from now on know not to lick thing that smell like food but not LOOK like food." p.s- when i was little I shipped Lemon and Raspberry before I realized what shipping was. Or what lesbianism was. *....I THOUGHT I WAS AMERICAN-*

So this reminds me of the toy I had where if you twisted the hats they would have some sort of lip balm strawberry scented (also tasted a little bit cause I would lick it off) I only had one and wanted more more of them but I’m not sure where I got it from 😭😭😭

I was a kid in the early 2000s, but I inherited a full collection of Strawberry Shortcake dolls from the 1980s from my great aunt. It included almost all of the dolls available at that time and their pets. I even had one of the original product catalogs! It’s such a treasured collection that we still have to this day-it may look a little worse for wear but boy were those dolls loved! ❤

The 2000’s series had a chokehold on me as a kid..I’m a boy but the series still appeals heavily to me simply because of the characters and amazing set design, the songs are all earworms and I know them all off by heart! My favorite episode was always “Moonlight Mysteries”, huge nostalgia..Scaredy Little Me and An Itty Bitty Scare are certified hood classics

I saw the original short on tv as a kid. I was heart broken when my brother taped over it. We weren't allowed to watch a lot of tv so getting to watch something designed for girls was a real treat. I have loved every redesign when I see them in stores. This franchise always makes me feel warm and cozy.

Strawberry Shortcake wasn't really my thing when i was kid but the single most iconic thing i have is a Strawberry Shortcake christmas tree ornament that, to this day, still retains its Strawberry scent! Its so adorable and the fact its managed to retain the scent 20ish years later is amazing

Because the characters in the 2003 series can often be way too sweet and overly cheerful Characters who had sassy personalities and attitudes like Custard, Angel Cake and Peppermint Fizz often stole the show for me

I met Muriel while cleaning her house for a big move. Just chatting with her was so fun. She drew strawberry shortcake for her sister. Shes such an amazing and brilliant woman. I was also lucky enough to get a commissioned piece from her as a baby shower gift. Its a watercolor piece of an elephant holding a carebear (carebears are my FAV)

Before I watch this, the only Strawberry Shortcake experience I have is that one movie where they form a rock band. I was obsessed with the part of the movie where she sang contemplatively in the rain. Oh, and I had a doll. I liked the strawberry smell. Edit: I FOUND IT! 2003, season 4, episode 3, "What can I do". Little me's favorite song for a while!

The 2009 Strawberry Shortcake started streaming on Samsung+ regular TV a few weeks ago! So, this video is great timing for me. Also, I only just realized that the people of Strawberry shortcake are miniature. I guess it never registered even though they were casually talking to insects, and walking through grass that towered over them.

I grew up with friends who liked strawberry shortcake but I did not really get in on the hype. And you bet I am watching this entire run-through from first to last! I love these videos they are so thorough, honest, and charming :D Love love love this channel!

I'm one of the odd ones who doesn't particularly care for the 2003 version, though I've come to appreciate it more in recent years. But Berry Bitty Adventures was my jam. I rewatched the entire series last summer, and it really has a lot of snappy writing that people tend to overlook. Fun fact: Carter Crocker, who was the head writer on the 2003 series, also wrote a fair number of episodes for BBA. I like the current series, but it definitely could use a little something.... more.

this video gave me flashbacks of being a kid and PRAYING to god to make me wake up in the world of strawberry shortcake every night for months, sometimes i would get so frustrated about it not working that i would cry after waking up in my normal bed. when i think about all this, i really cant help but understand where shifters come from

Gen 1 Strawberry is pretty metal. She asks the Sun to raise an army of trees to lay siege to her enemy, and then has him begging for mercy at her feet. As a 6-year-old. Like damn. Gen 2 and gen 3 Strawberry are just ridiculously wise and stoic, like they are twice as old as their friends in terms of mental age. Especially gen 3. I really like the Sky's the Limit movie though, mainly for the ending. I also like gen 4 a lot. It was made by Mike Vogel with music by Daniel Ingram, so it really has that MLP:FiM feel. The characters all have well-defined and compelling personalities and worldviews that play off each other in interesting ways, and the writing is really tight to fit the 4-minute format. I'm curious to see how this is going to translate to the longer 3D specials. I'm not completely sold on the animation yet from the previews, as it feels kind of lifeless to me compared to the 2D version, but I'll definitely watch it when it comes out.

Some thoughts.. 1. I think I vaguely remember the Sweet Dreams DVD, brief times, brief times of Blockbuster. 2. Did Gen 2 have a scooter? Somehow I either had a Gen 2 or 3 scooter and I don't know where it came from. 3. Gen 3's McDonald's toys are like a vague memory as well- Specifically how some kids collected the "stamp clips", and I got Raspberry's. I also recall these "rubber quickchange outfits" that Strawberry herself was with. I have no idea where the stamp and notebook went, but it's one of the many weird McDonald's promos I engaged in. 4. I like the official-Gen 4, in visual variety- a shame it, like Rise of the TMNT and Ducktales 2017, are snubbed in designs and merch for their much more famous 80s designs. 5. Funny how you and NegativeLegend both have videos on SBSC today.

I was born in 2000. Strawberry shortcake was my childhood!! I had all the vhs tapes, which smelled like strawberries!! I had all the dolls and a play house. I so badly wish I still had it all. 💔 Sometimes, I watch the episodes here on KZfaq. I'm so happy I was able to find all of them 😊

I never actually had too many Strawberry Shortcake dolls growing up but I was familar with it in the early 2000's, my mother had placed Strawberry Shortcake themed wallpaper in my bedroom as a baby and I also watched the 2000's T.V show a lot and visited Blockbuster just to pick up DVDs of the episodes. (In fact, I actually watched a lot of doll T.V episodes and T.V specials from Blockbuster and gave me an interest to collect 2000's toys like Bratz or MLP Gen 3 dolls) But in 2008 when the franchise was given a Hasbro reboot, I watched the new CGI T.V premeire special and I was not a huge fan of it even at a young age. But the 2000's T.V show made my youth, I found more episodes online and I even found a DVD for the first CGI Strawberry Shortcake film from 2006 called "The Sweet Dreams Movie" which after watching reminded me of the two CGI Care Bears films from the 2000's by translating the art style of the T.V show into mid 2000's smaller budget animation but it quite charming and not ultra lazy like another studio I'm thinking of. I also watched a few 80's T.V specials as well.

My only experience of strawberry shortcake was the 2010s iteration from a single colouring book. I didn't even really know about the whole sweets motif, since she was called strawberry lisa where I'm from. Looking up the other character's names, they seem to do the same. Like blueberry muffin being called blueberry Ida and so on.

I grew up alongside strawberry shortcake, she was my absolute favorite as a child. I also recall watching the gen 1 specials as a little girl as well, even though they were released before my time. I think gen 1 is my favorite, i love how sweet she looks.

Berry in the City is a great modern interpretation. My only qualms is that the episodes are two short and that Apple Dumplin has not returned and probably will not make an appearance because Praline said that Strawberry is her only niece Btw, I recently gotten into the franchise this year

For the song segment I have been singing strawberry’s “happy birthday” version to my niece every single year since 2003. This year she turned 27 and she still appreciates me singing “a berry happy birthday…to YOU!” to her haha! I always ask her if this is the last year but she says she wants me to keep going until we can’t anymore ❤

Don’t hate on me, but the only version I actually enjoy, is the 2021 series. I never liked the other versions cause they were just not for me, but the 2021 show, while it’s also not for me, I actually do enjoy it. I enjoyed it so much, I made a fan made movie based on that version, and I’m going to be making another one for next year!

I was never super into Strawberry Shortcake as a kid but i did have a puzzle of her. And i VIVIDLY remember the smell of the puzzle. It wasn't scented like strawberries but it had such a weirdly sweer wood and cardboard smell ill never forget

I remember bits and pieces from 2003 strawberry shortcake, like one episode where they went camping or something and Ginger Snap was afraid of the dark but was too embarrassed to tell everyone. I have like five of the dvds and they were a big part of my early childhood. I’m planning to rewatch them during my next long break, so I’ve been watching videos like this one to prepare. Interesting fact about the 2003 iteration of Strawberry Shortcake: American Greetings apparently planned to reboot Strawberry Shortcake as far back as 1998. Gift wrapping and stickers with that date on it appeared in Toys R Us in 2000 with a design that was the precursor to 2003 design of Strawberry Shortcake.

Omg i was such a strawberry shortcake kid I even had a themed birthday party after her (themed parties were rare for us lol) and used my own toys and doll of her for the cake including the one seen in 20:22 !! I had a gen 2 strawberry shortcake cd I would listen to all the time and the strawberry shake was my jam!! Also friendship grows like a flower always used to make me cry. Did anyone else’s strawberry shortcake dvd also smell like strawberries? I feel like I remember that but don’t know if I made it up.

wow, i love your channel! it's so cute and your type of videos really interest me a lot -- as i'm the type to explore through nostalgic media. along with mlp, i remember strawberry shortcake quite fondly. i watched through gens 2 and 3. she has such a special place in my heart 😭 one song that sticks out to me in the 2000s strawberry shortcake is "beautiful you" from the play episode. it's just so sweet, touching, and it pulls on some emotional heart strings with how adorably romantic it is. sometimes i go back and listen, just to cry at the song's lesson 😭 it reminds me of old times. thank you for creating such a sweet video. keep it up! 🫰🏼🍓

I was a Generation 2 Strawberry Shortcake fan as that's what was on TV when I was a kid, I never knew about Generation 1 and had no idea there was Generation 3 & 4 :c Now I'm 24, comfortable with myself and can enjoy what I want without peer pressure or stereotypes, holy moly Generation 1 gives me so much life and I'm adding some references to my cottage-core themed Animal Crossing~

I hadn't thought about strawberry shortcake in a long time, so seeing the 2003 designs hit me with a huge wave of nostalgia. 03 strawberry reminds me of playing outside in the yard on our playset, overgrown around the edges, smelling like cut grass and dirt. The familiar creak and groan of the swing, the faded, frayed jumprope my sister and I continually left in there. Going inside after a few hours and drinking crystal lite while watching strawberry. This video did a great job of capturing that essence, thanks :)

This video had me singing along and I like haven't thought of strawberry in YEARS. I'm actually pregnant with my first baby ( a boy due in April 2024) and I'm super nostalgic now for more 2000's stuff so I will check out the rest of your videos!! This is the first one I've come across! This probably isn't something my son will be into but there's other brands and shows we will absolutely enjoy together when he's older!! ❤ (Not saying there's anything wrong with a boy liking strawberry, just his dad is super manly so I assume he won't)

You clearly put a lot of effort into your videos 🥰 I remember having the generation 2 episodes on dvd as a kid I loved them! Honey Pie pony was so annoying I swear lol. When Strawberry visits Angel Cake in the first episode the water flooding out of the sponge cake is such a clear memory for me I dont know why haha! Thanks for the vid was very nostalgic ❤️
