Fun fact, its two guys, the drummer, who is absolutely up there with the best, and the singer, who writes and records everything else. They have a bassist and guitarist and some backing singers for live performances

@@ninja3687such is the case for a lot of bands, particularly smaller bands. Time is money and the less people in the studio recording, arguing, whatever else, the better. As for writing, it’s also common for it to be done by only 1 or 2.

@@Infinitepotato48 Yup. Not taking anything away from Vessel, but being the singular member of the writing and composing process isn't as uncommon as people think. Prince, Beck, Dave Grohl on the first Foo Fighters album, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, Damon Albarn of Gorillaz, Kim Dracula, Brendon Small. Just to name a few. All artists that do 90-100% of the writing and recording of all instruments themselves in the studio.

“No one told me not to breathe” is a metaphor for drowning in a relationship. Take me back to Eden would be another metaphor for “the beginning” of that relationship before things got bad. The image of a winged angel of death holding an apple is another metaphor for his ex girlfriend

I always thought he was in love with Sleep. To me, this whole album is a love album to Sleep, not an ex lover. “Take me back to when sleep made her appearance in my life” Worship.

This song is almost like having a drug or spiritual awakening to me. I've never experienced so much power and emotional/spiritual authenticity in a single song before in my whole entire life. I genuinely do believe this band is the most unique and talented band in the history of all music to have ever been written so far and i don't say that lightly. These unbelievably creative and (what I believe to be divinely inspired) ranger and blend of genres, notes, tones, techniques, styles, ect. surpass anything i ever even thought would have been possible... I can't even find the words except that they come out of an entirely different state of consciousness that speaks to the uniqueness and eccentricity of each individual through their own life experience. They have even surpassed tool for me by exponential margins who were the only band who could even have come close or compared and thas not something I ever thought I'd be able to say or imagine would be possible.

TMBTE, plus the other two offerings from the trilogy, uses post Lateralus album covers to skin up with. Tool have been my favorite band for years and years, but ST caught them sleeping. It's natural though. They young replace the old. I think that was Maynard's point with that 'warrior, struggling to remain relevant' line. Having a brain fart, can't think of the song name. More coffee needed. Edit: 'Invincible'.

This is the first reaction of yours that I have viewed but won't be the last I am a big Sleep Token fan and just loved the way you just embraced their sound/vibes and the appreciation you have for it I highly recommend you check out a lot more of their stuff they are so diverse and make everything sound amazing Some suggestions -The Apparition, Ascensionism, The Summoning , Granite , Sugar , Jaws, Alkaline ,The Love you Want That will give you a good taste of their range and just how phenomenal they are

MYSTERY BAND, no-one knows who the members are but the vocalist goes by Vessel 1 and he sings, writes, and records all instruments, expect the drums, which is done by Vessel 2. they have live bass and guitar stand ins. Vessel 1 is insanely talented.

Gotta start at the beginning man! Sleep token is an "anonymous" band, but they have so much meaning in their songs that can relate to almost every one, without knowing the "lore" behind the band. (Tbh the lore is out there but just adds to their art!) This song is the 2nd last track of the recent album "take me back to eden" this album is the last of a trilogy. for the full context and the song progressions and to see how far they've come in such a short time, start with sundowning album, then this place will become your tomb. Trust me you have to listen to the previous albums! Such great music! Each one is on par with one another!!! Personally sundowning i go back to alot! They have so much intention in their craft freaking love this band! Happy listening :)

The Offering is still my #1, it beats the Summoning because I don't like the ending to the Summoning and the breakdown is short, it beats this one because The Offering's breakdown is longer, gets heavier, and changes up, as well as the fact that TMBTE is an experience rather than a casual listening song tbh. It beats alkaline by length and heaviness, it's just so hard to beat. I've had the pleasure of throwing people around and being thrown around the pit to the Offering twice now, including a wall of death the first time. I was only like, 140 lbs, so that was fun. Second time was great but not the same, first time was before TPWBYT was released. Worship!
