Erich, I really want to tell you a huge Thank-You for being on KZfaq. (I play bass and guitar) You and your videos used to inspire me to be a better musician at college years ago. It really makes me happy to know that you are still doing what you did for me at college today. I think that I speak for the millions of little guitarists who watch you on KZfaq and or are a part of your guitar sage website when I say thank you sir. Keep on rocking boss, I believe you are saving a lot more kids by you teaching your guitar and you can ever possibly realize.

For y'all having problems with that diminished run at the end, I saw Brian do this by sliding the ring finger instead of picking with the pinky. This speeds things up and has a good cadence. Great lesson!

Really enjoyable lesson to watch - nice guitar - very compressed Gretsch sound ! anyway - 'the lick' - diminished kinda thing - there's NO 'd' in that 3rd rake - on g string - he plays c (5th fret) straight to eb (8th fret) there's no 'd' - (which does make those last 3 notes a straight diminished rake exercise) - I listened to the original version - after watching your vid - and 2 live versions - Have a listen again - he doesn't touch the d ! I'm not knocking your tutorial it's excellent

I told him to subscribe to your site but what do you think would be the first thing to get? The Ebooks or watch the videos? to teach him about scales and playing lead patterns? Hey Erich. I have been playing the guitar lately and I am a leftie. I realized one thing, my left hand is way more flexible than the right hand, which makes me question why its 'better' to use the left hand for strumming (seemingly the easier thing to do) instead of using it fo the chords. Is there really any reasoning behind it? PS: The guitar you've got here looks pretty nice.
@notatall2237
@notatall2237 8 жыл бұрын
im a leftie and there was no left handed guitar in the place i bought at so i got a right handed and i was thinking the same think,it's way easier for me to change chords and do the chords with my left hand... i would like to know why it's recommended to use a left handed guitar when you are left handed and the other way around as well.
@yourguitarsage
@yourguitarsage 8 жыл бұрын
Thanks my friend. Really it's a matter of choice. If it feels better for you doing it the other way, then do that. However, lefty guitars are far and few between.

In the key of C minor it’s Bb and Ab, not A# and G#. This is because the scales on which keys are based should read alphabetically: in this case C, D, Eb, F, G, Ab, Bb, C. No two notes with the same letter name in a scale.

You're a good player, but it would be helpful as a teacher to know what chords and pitches are called in this key (in all keys for that matter). We're in C minor - 3 flats in the key signature, Bb, Eb & Ab. There is no A# or G# in the key of C minor. The opening chords are C minor, B flat, A flat & G7. Some folks may not care about this. As you know, there's ton of misinformation and lousy guitar lessons on KZfaq. There are a number of good lessons too. You're good enough to not be associated with the bad ones. Brush up on your music theory.
