Exactly. Same happened with my girl. She was dumped in a ditch she was there for few days before i found her. Spent 13 amazing years with the best friend i ever had. Muss her every day

Thank you for saving this dog. I used to run a rescue years ago and got no donations. I charged a lot of money to my credit cards and saved 70 dogs over time. But I couldn't do it anymore. It's nice to see more people nowdays helping animals out.

Exactly. Used to live in rural area and many cats were dumped. Any that went down the road to the farm were shot by the farmer however the ones who came to our door had a home for life. Probably took in about 60-some from late 80’s to 2022. Spouse passed, had to downsize and have 6 currently. Could have bought a pretty nice home with the $$$ but I enjoyed giving the cats a furever home. Had an orange cat show up in October 2004 just after a very bad flood. We had to find alternate housing until we could dry and rebuild house. O.G. was a great cat who stayed many years in spite of his mega colon disease.

If you've ever adopted a dog from a shelter, you'll know how it can be -- the dog really chooses *you* rather than the reverse. They say it in different ways, but with the best adoptions, the dog greets you, and all their body language says, "There you are! I've been waiting for you. Is it time to go home now? Lemme pack my things...."

Whenever things start to become a struggle you can text or call 988 day or night and somebody will connect to you to help you through the darkness. It's the suicide prevention hotline so they are trained professionals and each one has the training and tools to help you. You are never alone, just remind yourself that it's your depression that tries tricking you into feeling that you are not worthy. Depression is as much of a disease as any other chronic physical ailment and it doesn't mean you are broken, it just means you are currently unwell. There may never be a outright cure for it but there is help out there, resources and tools you can use to help you have a higher quality and happier life.

It's so tough seeing animals in a shelter, but it's a blessing to see them get a home. Especially dogs like this who are terrified. I can't wait to adopt my cat

Blessings to you for your enthusiasm in helping dogs get adopted! Not every shelter is a "no kill" shelter and its heartbreaking to think of so many dogs being killed when all they need is someone to love them! While I've never understood the line of thinking that says "we just don't want them anymore"....its just beyond amazing there are men and woman like Rocky who make it their lives mission to help animals like Penny who npt only want to be loved, but will give nothing but love and happiness in the future. We don't deserve animals, but she found her family, the one that's meant to be

Ikr. How can people do that? To make them part of their family, and to discard them like that. Just breaks my heart. To some people, they are a part of their world. But to the dogs, they are their whole world.💜

I actually appreciate when people do this. You do NOT want a dog like going home with anyone other than an enthusiastic owner. People that hang on to them when they can't provide everything need is far more cruel in my opinion.

I have an almost 8 year old dog. we have spent every singly day of our lives together, except maybe 4 days. I feed him, provide water, walks, park time every day, weekly hikes/beach trips, he’s just my best friend. we go everywhere together. I’m happy to provide for him, he’s my responsibility and he provides so much for me. I’m a dog groomer and have met hundreds of dogs, all breeds and sizes with their own personalities, and almost all of them are just so sweet, playful, and loving. I guess it takes a heartless, empathy-lacking person to just abandon the animal they took into their home to take care of.

Dogs are expensive! I had mine for 20 years- dental, a serious eye infection, grooming and food costs- it’s a love that’s worth every dime, but costs must be realistically counted.

This happened to one of the greatest dogs I've ever known. Her old owners didn't want her back because "she was too needy". It was the weirdest thing. We adopted her and were expecting she'd have separation anxiety like destroying furniture when left alone because what else could "too needy" mean for a dog. But nope, she was amazing loving well behaved not the sharpest tool in the shed but just wanted to make everyone happy. She lived with us from 2 to 11 years old when she finally passed on. RiP Sweetie.

It was a great idea to wait for the adopters and you walk her out to them, she would've thought, "OK, he's introducing me to these humans, so they must be nice too!" She certainly wasn't scared with you around. 😊

You are a great volunteer. You keep the dogs' spirits up with your attention to them and help to get them adopted. It was awesome for her new people to get down to her level, and she walked right into their arms. Penny has such a cute face.

This was so touching and who could not fall in love with Penny? I went to a shelter to write a story and ended up taking home a beagle/terrier mix who was set to be put down the next day. I lived with 2 roommates and got us kicked out of our apartment because no pets were allowed. I never once regretted what I did. He lived 17 years and had a happy life.,

I am inspired by your videos, so 4years after losing my best dog to cancer, we visited our local shelter and rescued a pup. My new bulldog Oliver and I watched this together and are thrilled for Goose and her new family! Thanks for spreading puppy love!

I’m happy someone took her in. I’m serious when I say I was asking if she was available last video because I was going to organize a trip to go and adopt her if she was still available! Hopefully penny has a great life and she already looks substantially happier 😬 my wife and I just found some pups on pet finder to adopt so hopefully all goes well!

We adopted a male hound-mix, who had been in the shelter for 147 days. He’s 1-1/2 years old, full of energy, extremely friendly, and you can tell he’s grateful to have a forever home (especially, since he has 3 furry buddies to play with). Glad to see Penny also found a home.

Omg this girl had me in tears, and as sad as I was that she was looking so depressed, I’m now so happy that someone adopted that beautiful girl. It's really sad to see so many dogs in shelters. Action should be taken against people who abandon pets for no genuine reason. They should also not be allowed to adopted another pet. I've seen some people fancy over puppies and then they abandon them when they become big. Which is a shame. Happy for Penny 🥰

I'm crying right now,I got a golden retriever what I didn't know from a puppy mill that was so abused. She is 1 year old and never been with people other animals or walked on grass .she is a hot mess .I took her to a trainer and he told me it might take a year to get her right .so I started to look for a Rescue place for her ,now I see your post that" give them a chance. "Now I'm in tears .

Our Rocky is such a joy. Found him on craigslist for free. His pic melted my heart. The other people who came to see them they thought wanted him for a bait dog. He had two broken ribs and scared to have anyone reach for him. He would scream. We have had him about 9 years and he just loves us and our friends. He now loves tummy rubs.

I’m a dog daddy myself and I could never ever live without Baguette. That’s why I can’t understand ppl who say they don’t wanna have their dogs back bc the bound you have with your dog is so deep. It’s indescribable.

I prayed 2× a day for a dog I love. Out of state. Ozzy he was adopted in 5 days!! I cried and thanked God every hr. Crying! He was overlooked for month and months!! I sent a toy box and treats!! On Thurs. Adopted on Sat. God bless ozzy!!
