iFi is a British company with locations in many parts of the world, from the United States to China. Its vast production ranges from power supplies to accessories, via DACs, Streamers and headphone amplifiers. This Neo Stream under review is a Streamer-DAC with a whole range of interesting features. A particularly well-developed hardware with solutions that we have found in few products is matched by a software that is cumbersome and perhaps not up to the product's standards. Neo Stream can be used with great satisfaction as an End Point Roon, or with any other software that sees it as an end point, but if you want to use the bundled software, best to limit yourself to the Tidal Connect or Spotify functions (it is not natively compatible with Qobuz), not having, the Neo Stream, for example, any particular advanced library management functions. The input/output section also has absolute excellences and a few shortcomings, testifying, perhaps, to a less-than-perfect balance in the management of project goals.
We urge you to watch the video from start to finish. Of things to say there were many, we have tried to say them all to clarify to the full the "position," in our opinion, of this particular product.
