I'm 35 years old. One of my very first PlayStation games was final fantasy 7. I became in love with that soundtrack. It is a testament then to the remake that even with these incredible remixed versions of classic themes that they can still elicit the same type of feelings I got back in 1997. When this theme came on I literally felt tears in my eyes because I was so damn happy. I have no shame in admitting that either

Hey there, I'm 45 yo, played the original in 1997, I completly understand you. I was crying, for some songs, and Aerith in the original, and also when we met her for the first time in the Remake. I was crying and take me almost 10 minutes to continue to play. But in that remake, OMFG, I was like you. Against Jenova phase 3, my mouth fell down and I was dancing with my head how I was happy to retrieve the song we all know. I don't know for you, but for me, FF7 Remake will always be the best game ever :)

@@ryanrick6443 Won't be the same, especially now I guess but it's still a very great JRPG, and a marvel of its time. And obviously touched more than a few nerves both positive and melancholic, much like VI did for some of us older folk. I love VII, absolutely loved it. When I heard the first trailer (forever ago) it was like the Halo 4 trailer, first plunk on the piano and I was "this is FFVII Remake. I FINALLY LIVED LONG ENOUGH! Oh crap I lived long enough." And from there it was just waiting, first game footage trailer from the old company and was "ok, this is ok, Cloud is um, starving to death but I like it, got a vibe... PLEASE don't be shit..." Then Square took over fully and we somehow ended up with this. SOMEHOW, we ended up with this!! Was terrified it'd be "Oh. Shit." and went "OH SHIT!" when it was actually not only a good game, but also a great rendition of what VII was and is being remade into. I had fun. I'm still scared to death, but I might live long enough again. Be safe and well Ryan, good to meet you :) You too ChainSnacha, your name made me happy

I never played the original as a kid, but I'm so happy everybody got as excited as I did hearing some of these tracks. This game is a masterpiece.

For me, it sent me right back to when I was 10 years old playing through the original game for the very first time after a friend introduced me to it one day (and it's entirely thanks to that that I even became an FF fan in the first place, and I'll always be thankful to that friend for introducing me to what quickly became my favorite game franchise ever, and that has never changed, even with other great contenders like Persona now being in the picture). The instant I heard that original JENOVA theme begin playing, I had a huge smile plastered on my face and I just reveled in all of the nostalgia and memories.

Yeah it was. I really liked the orchestral version already very nice, different but then the third act really blew me away. All the music in this game is so good.

I don't think it's just a nostalgia thing, this boss was legitimately the coolest in the entire game. It does stuff no other mobs had (like pausing your time), and when the music kicks in and the screen zooms out and everything starts getting more intense--that's just good cinematography!

This was my favorite moment of the entire remake. This fight is so well paced and the sound design is perfect. It's a slow build up of tension until phase 3 hits and everything is chaos. Legit goosebumps when I played this.

The way it transitions from the high production orchestral score to the practically midi quality "twinkling stars" sound from the original track is so fucking amazing. I get chills every time, talk about paying beautful homage to an iconic track.

Honestly when the jenova music hits, I'm taken back to 1999. This track has always been with me since then Sitting there in the dark on the floor, staring at my projection screen tv. Blanket sitting on my head wrapped around me. Sound not too loud as to not to wake up my mom. Pausing it everytime I hear a noise knowingly I'm supposed to be in bed. I beat jenova on the boat, first time using potions, auto attacks and the materia that cloud barret and red started with, I had no idea what materia was untill I played through again when I was older.

Seeing Red XIII running around and helping you in this fight is actually making me hope (though I get the feeling that it won't actually happen) that in Part 2 of the Remake (and beyond), they may set it up so that any party member not actually in your party but who is still present at that point in time will still be there and will help you during battle, but will exclusively remain under AI control while you can only directly control your 3 chosen party members (I'd also like it if Cloud was no longer *required* to be in your active party if you don't want him to be, but he could still be there under AI control to help you). It would make more sense than the whole "HEY! LET'S SPLIT UP AND TRAVEL IN SMALLER GROUPS!" idea. Especially since modern hardware can handle that kind of thing much more easily.

Back after playing Intergrade…and this is still great. I adore how the original theme is sprinkled in and redone throughout Phase 1 and 2! And then Phase 3 kicks in with that exact same melody. At that moment, you know it’s about to get CRAZY.

Honestly, I think what really does it for people is that they *do* start out with 2 phases of a more serious, grandiose, purely orchestral interpretation...then they start phase 3 by immediately hitting you with the synth for the main motif. I think a lot of us were expecting them not to bother with a touch like that.

This was extremely well done pretty much the perfect remade boss fight i'm actually not a big fan of the remake tbh (at least not yet with just part 1 being out) but i have to give them credit for the amazing remade boss fights especially this one i hope part 2 will be released next year and finally change my mind about the remake
