I mean Doom was never focused on story, rather on gameplay and personally it's my game of the year. The game is so humbling: You think you're good at shooters? Try beating Doom Eternal on Nightmare. It really is a nightmare, but in a good way. There is so much to master to become good at combat even though you "only" play against AI. Also its performance, artstyle, and music is absolutely amazing and perfect to deliver the right atmosphere.

Yeah, Eternal should have won at least something, the game is incredible, haven't had that kind of blast in a long minute.

I'm surprised as hell that TLOU 2 won GOTY My experience of the game is that they made me play as Abby- I got 2 or 3 hours into her story-line thinking constantly "when is this shit going to end" but the game constantly threw in more and more filler until I eventually got bored and went on KZfaq to see how much longer this shit will last. After I found out, I haven't touched the game since and went on twitch to see the end. And now you tell me that this boring shit won over FF7R? Over DOOM? Over Hades? Are you fucking kidding me? I haven't played GOT yet but from what I've seen, the game looks amazing. +I had a waaay better time overall playing Animal Crossing compared to TLOU. But who are we kidding- we know Animal crossing ain't winning this. All those games didn't make me feel like I was robbed. But what was better were the 'special' people that understood TLOU 2 story. You know- the people that kept repeating the same bullshit acting like they built different. Just fuck off with your pretentious ass, a game this divided should have never won GOTY. Edit: one positive thing that I can take from this is that at least the judges award innovation. They did it with God of War so.. At least that will inspire future developers to come up with new shit just for the sake of it and see how it goes, see if that wins them the GOTY. BUT, AGAIN, clearly TLOU was testing boundaries and this test didn't end up so well ( hence the hole community drama it had ), and it still won because it was innovative and judges love that shit, it's like cocaine for them. New Horizons, while not a technical ground breaker, did leave an impact on 2020 so it was worth considerations. Definitely not a winner with the competition it had but clearly a very competent contender in of its own right.

I get why people are put off by it, But going as far as saying it's "The worst game ever made" is ridiculous lol even if they don't like the story (Which I thought was OK, Not GREAT but DEF not as bad as I was led to believe) The acting is top notch, The gameplay while it can get repetitive, Is so fluid and brutal, And the attention to detail in the gameplay is about as realistic as it gets. Add amazing audio design, Amazing graphics & Crazy Accessibility features, I can't believe I almost didn't play this game just cause how angry & negative people were towards it.

Ellie and Abby are the same, they are desperate for vengeance and they put in danger their relatives. Also if there is a little bit of romance between two characters of the same sex it's definitely woke and it's dangerous. Don't you understand that their love is just disguised propaganda ? (Abby wasn't criticized for her relationship with Owen btw, I guess straight couples are perfectly good for storytelling) The story is great and clever. You can dislike it, but they can't call it trash or "woke" when they are the ones sticking to their prejudices.

I get it, sure, but to comment on something as divisive as A Joel in One was, you gotta say something more than "It was good" Story telling is pretty straight forward. Got your setting, characters, motivation, turmoil, and triumph. It's not hard to frame a "it was good" argument using those simple parameters. TLOU1 was good. Joel's motivation is to get Ellie to the Fireflies as Tess's final wish. Tess motivation is the same, so that her death matters. Ellie's motivation is to not lose more people. Riley, then tess, and later sam. She can't die like they can. So she wants to keep her people around. The setting is well developed, seeing the remnants of the military, their extreme measures to quell the virus. The entire story taking place over an entire year, as there is not reliable transportation, and traveling is always a danger. The turmoil as Ellie is captured, as joel is wounded, and as the fireflies dead ass say "yeah, we gotta kill her and then we hope her brain stuff will cure us" brings us to a fine 3rd act crescendo. The triumph, where Joel saves ellie, a surrogate daughter for Sarah, whom he couldn't save, and ellie's willingness to "accept" joel's "truth" about the fireflies. This is why the last of us was good. Then we got the absolute fucking dogshit vomitorium that was The last of us 2. it's very easy to criticize literature. Hasan is bad at criticizing politics, so I'm not surprised he's bad at criticizing literature.

Not really, all the people crying would have been happy with GOT or any other game won game of the year. TLOU literally came in second to the vote, won the golden joystick award, also known as the people's gaming Awards, it also won the most awards from Playstation users. The game has constantly been in the top 6 best selling Playstation 4 games on Amazon and literally the most streamed and watch Playstation game on twitch.

If they did not fuck up the story of tloup2 then ok but they did fuck it up to appeal to a small fraction of people. They took the og game, improved the graphics, fucked up the story and made the game for the game journalists instead of the fans. Compared to the first game which was a masterpiece this is just another disappointment of 2020. Both the game and the show.

@@DJay2612 everything. characters were introduced didnt get much development and they immediatly killed for the revenge plot. Abby came out of nowhere and her backstory is generic as fuck. "oh no good guy from last game killed my father so its time for revenge" and they try to make you like her. the end was especially terrible. It was dumb for all the revenge stuff to even happen so why not finish it off? This story feels like a fanfiction a 14 year old would write more than a AAA game story.
