so my read one got left outdoors after i used it working on some plumbing, in the sun, in the rain, for probably a coule of weeks at least... yeah, same, still worked fine

I think the greatest thing about Olight, they forced the better brands to lower their price to be more affordable.

many Streamlight models were cheaper than the Olight version even before Olight came along, but i do agree with the overall premise that competition is good

Streamlights are ok. Have owned plenty and no issue. Olight is awesome, really powerful for their size. The other one, worth every penny if not more is Wuben.

@@CloverTac the magnetic power charger was a game changer. I personally like the Black Scout Survival lights on Amazon, the strike bezel is so sharp it cut my edc bag.

I never used to carry a flashlight as part of my edc until about two years ago. Now I wonder how I ever got by without it

I understand your reservation about depending on a "rechargeable only" flashlight so I use the micro/macro stream as my EDC light and back it up with the Stream light ProTac 1L-1AA.

I use the Microstream and found the 50 lumens very useful for illuminating my room or for walks; not too much, not too low, perfect spot for urban carry in my opinion. I may get a Macrostream in the future for extra runtimes on 50 plus extra punch if required.

yep, great for that purpose, still love my microstream and stylus lights but the macro is a handy one too... always been a big fan of streamlight here, they just get it done, thanks for sharing

I like my microstream and microstream usb. All of my edc stuff is 1AAA configuration because its easy to carry. I was never a fan of rechargeable stuff until i ran out of batteries. The 90 lumens from a standard microstream is adequate to me for what i use, however i enjoy the boost i get from the microstream usb. I didnt mind my olight i3t and i5t lights but i found the switches get full of garbage and wear out prematurely. I have never had issues with my streamlight switches. Love em.

i honestly have never messed with a single olight, first, too many others doing that and second, streamlight has never really given me a reason too. LOL

Put dialetric grease on the 2 o rings and the sleeve will seat and slide much better.

Been carrying the olight M2R (1200 lumen) for a couple years. It’s hard to go to a lower lumen light but I might just try this out.

i am so not an Olight kinda guy, think they spend way too much sending stuff to influencers and that is the main reason for their popularity. if they didn't give away so much stuff, they could have a lower price point all the time but if they did they, i think people would see them for the cheap china stuff they really are... just my opinion. i do gotta wonder though lumen to lumen, are all lights created equal? my gut tells me no but i have never tried a lumen comparison and honestly don't know how one might even do that. you have definitely given me an idea though, so thanks!

I'm a huge fan of streamlight rechargeable lights. I have several and all have exceeded my expectations except the Stinger HL model. So far the difference in brightness compared to the Stinger LED is negligible at best, but battery life between charges is much shorter. The StylusPro usb is still my daily carry after years of use that border on abuse with only a warranty tailcap/switch replacement. Still running the original battery.

yeah i picked up my Stinger LED years and years ago, second hand and hvae never had an issue, was pretty beat up when i got it and even more so now

Great video. Love SL and carried a 1L-1aa for quite a while. But it's been replaced with an Olight Warrior Mini. Macrostream is a nice light but I'd still take the 1L-1aa.

Hmmm I’m thinking the Protac 1L-1AA beats this hands down. Nonetheless, it looks great and is a tempting buy!

that is a very similar light, no experience with it but being Streamlight, am sure it is definitely not a bad choice. for 1AA lights i will almost always go with the microstreams, for me the whole point of single battery is the smaller size. that said, Streamlight makes so many different models because there are so many different uses, everyone can find what works best for them. thanks for sharing

@@CloverTac oddly it’s called the 1AA but it’s also a cr123 which is the better option. 1AA gets 40/150 lumens and the cr123 gets 40/350 lumens plus strobe with either. 40 lumens for 14 hours either battery.

@@onedirection3510 that is a better option only IF size is not an issue for you, but as I said before, different people have different needs. the size on the microstream with the 1AAA works great for me when i have to work in tight spaces

So for an edc, I'm alway curious about having a 500 lumen primary/50 secondary setup. Especially with it not being reversible at best.. I wish this light came as a 100/500 setup, or at least that as a ten-tap options. I guess I'll keep carrying my mircostream usb as my edc. I use my flashlight a lot in my daily routine and I prefer having to click-up for more power vs vice-versa.

yeah just depends on what you need. i still like the microstream and alsot he stylus, own quite a few different lights, much like guns, they all sorta have a place
