close, if you mean 2d. But blaze blue and skull girls isn't quite like this. It could be due to the fact that the older games where hand painted animation that was later digitized. where as now anything 2d is made using a computer. it's not bad, in fact I like it, it's just tough to get that same look. same goes with fluid controls and the whole sense of style. street fighter alpha 3 may have looked cartoony but it was...well let's say a bit more macho or better yet heroic than blazeblue or skull girls. Bb has far to many bishi's and skull girls is all super cutesy. again not bad just not sf alpha 3 max good.

We just kept the good ones in mind. 4 version of street fighter 2 on Super Nintendo weren't that much better than dlc character, there was a lot of soul less fighting game in the arcade, created to surf on street fighter'2 success, and there was a lot of awful game in general. We just remember the good ones. There are a tons of games theses day that are made with lot of heart and love, even of they don't reach critical success. A lot of people keep playing sfV while saying that it sucks, but they aren't willing to try the alternatives

Glentaker and VixXstazos are right actually. In the 90s, Capcom was on a winning streak creatively with their games. The characters and their designs were innovative, the soundtracks were catchy, and the storytelling was solid. Most of all, they were not afraid to take risks. This isn't nostalgia talking, its the truth. Capcom is afraid of progression with Street Fighter in terms of character design and story, that's why they phone it in with the nostalgia and playing safe.

I agree for Capcom, I do prefer their older game(although they still released 45 version of the same one, they had excellent creativity with stuff like darkstalkers, the vs serie etc etc) I just don't agree with the "in general" part. There are still a ton of freaking great game "made with heart and love" today, and there were a tons of bad ones made to rip off kids in the 90's. Just because capcom sucks today doesn't means that no one can make great game anymore(even for fighting game, you have kof 14, guilty, skullgirlz, tekken7... I'll admit I only play third strike, but still : o) )

Yea because everyone one of them are the same and has no purpose. the only time we do is rival scenes which sucked because these street fighter games may has a short introduction with little to no words but means alot than the shity rival scenes today.

aaaaaaaaaaaa808 SF5 doesn't look rushed to me, and SFA3 reuses assets from SFA1 and SFA2, at least SF5 hasn't reused anything other than move sets and characters, but yeah, SF5 can be better.

If I was a rational human being, I'd agree. However, 3D graphics everywhere prevent anything more from happening, hence why we don't have special intros. Enjoy post-match quotes for the next infinite millenia and hope and pray some indie dev will include this feature like they did with Skullgirls :^)

Most taunts always seem to be about looking down on your opponent and only a handful few are light-heartedly enough to be friendly, so seeing ingrid playing that little trick on Blanka then giving him back his bananas was so awesome! It was like "nah, here you go, I was just kidding. ;P" (me: X3)
