Yeah I wrote this several months ago too, but focused on Chun-Li being too high and Cody being too low. Gen, maybe at his highest point, was a threat, but he dies in his fight with Akuma in SFV in a rather underwhelming fight. Plus, he was only tied with Akuma, MAYBE in SFA2. Akuma didn't kill him because of the cancer. So Gen being higher than Gouken all of a sudden? Nope. Also, yeah, Chun-Li being higher than Guy is just not it. Guy told Bison he would make quick work of him AND his ship, and Bison let Rose go. Next thing you know, Rose is alive in SFV. I wouldn't rate him so low.

Unless I'm mistaken Power is energy too. A girl who can set fires to people by just looking at them in the movie Firestarter isn't stronger than a teenager or grown man but she could easily beat them if she did that. Strength doesn't mean power like that. Chun li did vaporize rock and trees in the game and franchise. She blew a giant small village and or town sized deep crater into the ground in sf4. Her energy projection is likely her strongest.

Abigail is strong but no technique training or finesse. Hugo had the same problem until he became a pro fighter. Viper is weak without his gadgets. Sodom is one of Mad Gear's strongest with Katana as well as armor. Cammy is at a low level, but I agree that he could be lower. Viper is weak without his devices and has no training. @Crazy Van Sagat is the original street fighter champion, once considered an unbeatable fighter. The main reason why Ryu becomes so famous is because he's the first fighter to actually beat him, and he was only able to do so by becoming evil Ryu during the fight. I checked his character profile and it states that it may not be canon, but it is listed as one of the events that happened in the SFIII timeline. But even if it isn’t canon, does it not speak to how powerful Gill is? Taking Akuma’s most powerful attack just to see how strong Akuma is, and then just using Resurrection and going about your business? Sounds like Gill doesn’t view Akuma as much of a threat.

As for Cody and Ken: Buckle up, because you asked for receipts. I'm going to look up as much evidence I can find on both characters. Cody is a martial arts master as well as he trained in karate and boxing since he was 9 years old. He traveled the city and defeated multiple fighters at a time, something Ken doesn’t actually do. Ken fights one-on-one with people. Ken also doesn’t use weapons or have weapons used on him. Cody beat Edi E. who had a baton and gun. It wasn't a friendly fight either because Edi. E. is a crooked cop. Cody was jailed because he was so bored of his continued fighting on the streets just to find a challenge. In all of his win quotes, he still isn’t quite impressed with the Street Fighter universe either. He likes fighting Ryu because Ryu takes himself seriously. Oni stating what he stated shows that Cody is holding a lot of his power back. It’s “just a quote” but it still shows that Cody is no slouch. Cody's win quote against Akuma shows that he isn’t even impressed by the dark hadou. We see Cody can easily break out of prison if he wants to by simply busting a brick wall with one punch. He defeated Guy, a ninja master who can go toe to toe with Bison. Remember, Guy threatened Bison to his FACE that if Bison didn’t give up Rose, he would kill him and destroy his ship, and Bison gave up Rose. Cody can beat Guy. As for his losses to Lucia and Poison, those weren’t even real matches. They were sparring matches. Cody had already fought with Abigail, whom he actually needed to beat up, and Zeku, a ninja master who ran Guy’s clan. Cody wasn’t impressed with Abigail and told him to straighten up, and he also wasn’t impressed with Zeku and said he knew a “Guy” just like him, thus confirming that Cody can still beat Guy if he needs to. When he lost to Lucia (Her story mode by the way), he was on the floor smiling as if she simply knocked him down in the fight and he stopped it. He said “Nice kick. Seems you still haven’t lost your moves Lucia.” That is NOT what happened to Chun-Li, whom you claim is STRONGER THAN JURI, remember 😂. The data doesn’t show Cody LOSING to Lucia like Chun-Li lost to Juri, as much as, Cody had a friendly sparring match and lost. In Poison’s story mode, Cody isn’t even defeated! He is fixing his tie, and Lucia comes by because there was a report of the Mayor being attacked. It doesn’t even say Poison won the fight, because if we go by what we know, Poison is a lower tier character. Some of these are not “canon” I know, but neither is this list of DBZ style power levels. A majority of Cody’s feats are just speculation, but when we point at all the data we have, Cody is nowhere near low. That’s what we CAN say. That’s why I rate him above Ken. Ken’s feats aren’t speculation. They are canonical, and he hasn’t done much. I'll go through his data now and why I think that's true. Ken was trained by Gouken, but so was Dan before he got kicked out. That doesn’t mean Ken is automatically better because of association. Sakura had no training at all and was able to fight alongside Batsu from Rival Schools, and could also defeat Karin Kanzuki, who was trained her entire life. Ken also never fought Akuma; I don’t know why you said he fights Akuma on a daily basis. Saying that simply because they are in the same game is like saying Cody fights with Ryu on a daily basis. Akuma never once targeted Ken Masters. If he did, Ken would have lost easily because Ken can’t beat Ryu, and Akuma can. Ken also knows Ryu because he trained with Ryu for years. He knows Ryu’s style better than anyone, so he knows Ryu’s weaknesses. This doesn’t mean Ken can beat OTHER people easily. In his story, Ken has only beaten Ryu when Ryu is distracted, and Karin Kanzuki. He defeated Sakura in a sparring match as well. He is never stated to actually beat anybody else of any importance. He lost to Bison in Street Fighter Alpha easily and was made a puppet before being beaten by Ryu, he lost the Street Fighter II tournament as, Ryu is hinted to have made it to the finals because he avoided the flames of Bison’s body being destroyed by Akuma. In Street Fighter IV, he fights Rufus, but there is no winner. He may or may not have won the tournament, and he and Ryu were distracted so their fight wasn’t real either. In Street Fighter V, he fights Birdie (Whom Cody defeated in his Street Fighter Alpha story, but that’s also not canon right 🤷‍♂️). There is once again no winner, but Karin apologizes for Birdie attacking him. Later, he saves Sean from Fang, so we can say he defeated him, but not in a way that is knocking someone out. He fights Laura and that fight gets stopped too. Next, Ken fights typical Shadaloo soldiers and defeats them, not anything different from Cody taking out thugs. He doesn’t do anything important still. He fights Ryu later and loses…again. Street Fighter III is the last story, and Ken wins another martial arts tournament, but nobody we know was in it. In the real tournament, with Alex and everybody else, he is nowhere to be seen as winning anything. He supposedly fights Urien in Third Strike, but no winner is said there again. Then he fights Ryu…and loses…AGAIN. When I put all this data in there, I don’t rate Ken higher than Cody. It’s not that I think Ken is a low tier character. It’s just that when it comes to actually fighting, Cody has been in life and death fights, survived jail, has barely ever felt like anything is challenging enough, has never lost a serious fight when the stakes count. Ken fights in martial arts tournaments, one on one, where there are rules, ropes, time outs, etcetera. He doesn’t fight against people who are ready to take his life. AND when he fights against somebody strong, he CLEARLY loses the fight like canonically. Ryu, Bison, no tournament win in Street Fighter II, III, OR IV? I think this is the main reason Cody and Guy, and Ryu and Ken were never put together. Capcom would have to state who is better, and that would upset fans no matter what. But “I” think Cody would stomp a mud hole in Ken if he had to. In a “tournament” fight with rules? Ken would win because that’s what he’s used to. But Cody is an ACTUAL STREET FIGHTER. Ken learned this in the Street Fighter II Victory anime when he tried to use his martial arts against Guile, who was hung over. Guile threw sand in his face and Ken said “That’s a dirty trick” to which Guile stated, “There aren’t any rules in a street fight kid.” Later on, Ken is seen recovering in his home from the beating, and they show the yard Ken and Guile fought in. There were busted drums, broken wood, and everything. Ken received a letter from the woman he hit on and it said, “I warned you” as Ryu laughed at Ken while reading it. Ken vs. Cody is what I believe happens when martial arts masters face people on the street and get bodied. Those techniques are good for the ring against other martial artists but fail miserably when somebody on the street is trying to stab you.
