@@taylorbee4010 not sure what you mean, my personal opinion has always been positive about SFxT. For the rest of the player base I think it came down to 2 things. The on-disc DLC blew up in their face as a "scandal" but I mean really? They were going to release that DLC and people were gonna buy it regardless. Knowing it was premeditated is irrelevant imo because, spoilers, most DLC in any game is planned before launch, but it still made people mad. Secondly, there were obvious balance issues at launch like the whole JabXTimeout phase. But people wrote it off immediately and didn't give them a chance to patch things up. The gems were also unnecessary and made spectating tournaments that used them confusing imo. Overall the core mechanics of the game and obviously the roster are fucking awesome, and I think if they did one more balance patch and got people to give it a 2nd chance they'd have fun with it Weak launch = weak longevity

@@taylorbee4010 *I guarantee if they keep the servers on it working for a while alot of people are gonna hop back on it....the only people who didn't enjoy the game was hardcore Tekken players because they wanted the Tekken Characters to play like tekken characters and not have street fighter mechanics imo the game was a solid 8 minus the on disc dlc and Gem system....fun factor wise I love it because of the decent roster it had*

@@TrystanDavis Yep, thank you! I'll sharpen up for the runback so I don't drop so much stuff. Going back to 60 hz was one thing but I was also misjudging proximity which made some things whiff when normally they wouldn't.

I wanna play a tekken x streetfighter . Same concept as this game but they put street fighters into the tekken game . Akuma fit so well into tekken 7

It actually has rollback! It was one of Capcom's first attempts at it after 3SO a few months prior. Everything else though, it absolutely needs.

@@AgentBacalhau spectator mode screwed and it desyncs if you scroll over the dlc chars in the first ten seconds of the select screen but the actual fight is a lot more consistent than CFN

There is a PC version patch you can download from Steam that grants this game absolutely great connection. I downloaded it 2 years back, but have not tried it. Not sure if it still works, and if the community is still big, but it is worth a try. Not a remaster of course but at least the connection is a huge upgrade (from what I have heard when it first dropped)...

I never played sf X tk but I just love how capcom made Hwoarang attacks so much cooler and dynamic. In tekken he is so clunky ever since T3. I hope kinda reinvent him for T8

"Cross Tekken has a way of putting smiles on people's faces, despite what MM and others may claim" Super agree. The way this game got bandwagoned on over the DLC characters, when Western AAA companies had already been doing far worse stuff for a long time already, never made any sense to me. That crap drives me insane, when a mob mentality takes over and everyone treats something like a punchline, and that actually becomes the dominant thing anyone remembers or cares about above anything to do with the actual game (or movie, etc) itself... and everyone who participated in a mob frenzy groupthink exercise doesn't even realize that's what it was after time has passed, they would rather repeat a lie (ie that this game is a terrible piece of crap) their entire lives than admit to themselves that they weren't thinking independently; or have no inherent shame about participating in a mob, or whatever... sigh. I have great memories of playing this game casually with friends; it's honestly a super fun game to play "badly" (ie house rule not to punish open tags, stuff like that), due to the massive roster, how fun all the stages are to see the transitions through, the interpretation of all the Tekken characters in SF style, and all the great animations on throws, supers, and between round stuff. We probably played this more than any other fighting game of that era, for those reasons, though we played a ton of SF4 and Persona Arena/Ultimax also (Persona is probably my favorite fighting game ever... it also deserved more love than it got from the FGC, for being the third and final true 2D sprite-art game Arcsys ever made.)

i remember i bought this game brand new for 60 i put the game in and half the characters were locked i was like sweet just gotta play story and unlock them imagine my surprise when this game had all the characters on the disc but kept it locked for more money i got rid of the game immediately based off principle i wish i got to play this game cause its so cool. but what they did was messed up

The roster is pretty big. I forgot how many fighters this game has with the added dlc. They should do a remaster, maybe a compilation with this, CvS2 and TvC.

Is there a reason why 360 is preferred over PS3 for this game? Wouldn't you want the 5 extra characters that the PS3 version has, or were there a bunch of framerate/performance issues with the PS3 version?

A 360 was the console of choice for tournament play, not just for this game, but all fighting games of the time. PS3 has this inherent input lag which is very noticeable when playing anything that 60 frames a second.

Imo what killed psychoblue was to many dropped combos when he did open wong up it looked like he out neutral wong in Winners finales he just let him live one to many times because of those dropped chances for heavy damage. Wong played solid an didn’t drop those BnBs an it was enough to over come anything psychoblue couldn’t finish because of the drops.

It was made because capcom.and Namco had an agreement to both make crossover games. What ended up happening was this game, and Tekken 7 got akuma. Fans never clicked with this game so capcom hastily abandoned it.

Part in reason, it was an end-of-console generation titled, had it came out as a launch title it would be in a different predicament. Doing a redux version won't hurt, Capcom could implement a free-to-play model for the game. People have talked for a few years about a F2P fighter SF x T can be that.

I've run various events for SFxT since late 2013 and there's been a dedicated following that never stopped playing. Thanks to this Arturo and his channel's infinite generosity, those players have had a stage to shine here and there's even more excitement to come between this channel and some other arrangements I've made to put this game and its dedicated playerbase in the spotlight. You can go through this channel's archives and see plenty of SFxT action like CB2019, the Pandora's Mayhem events and its prior names the Psychoblue monthlies or the discord tournaments (they're all the same thing heh)

Justin’s whorang is a very odd thing to watch. He has two overhead and Justin uses zero. He has dive kicks Justin does not use. The character has so many tools at his disposal that Justin refuses to employ. He just plays a very fundamental neutral based way, which is so unlike how the character should be used. It works for him though and that’s what makes it interesting.

14:06 not sure who is commentating but there seems to be a current trend in the online fgc that is trying to sabotage any other netcode means of playing a game and just talk about using rollback netcode instead. People should be fine whatever means of netcode they want to play if they seem perfectly fine with it.

That's also how it works in the Tekken Tag series. I guess Capcom wanted to make it consistent with that series (or make it different from UMvC3, which was also out at the same time).

Tip for the guy commentating - I know this isn't Evo but try and keep the little singing and humming between sets to yourself, as well as the "Bum bum boom bang" nonsense when guys are hitting combos. Find better ways to describe what is going on with the action.
