Adam, not only do the cars have to be street legal, they have to drive to the next event on a predetermined route, so that station wagon that did the wheelie and almost crashed has to be fixed and drive to the next days race. The winner in each class is determined by the average of their runs at the end of the week. If you liked that, you need to go to Gainesville for the Gator nationals on march 9, cars go 330 mph in under 4 seconds, the ground shakes under your feet and the smell of NITROMETHANE is awesome.

So glad you had a good time at Sick Week! I never would have expected to find you there! I'm on the other side of the country, following it closely. I love drag racing. You were under the time boards and filmed "Jackstand Jimmy" James Taal's perfect 8.500 run. His class of car is not allowed to run faster than 8.50 seconds, and he hit the target dead on. You can't do any better than that. He was in the red Corvette they call Ruby, you were in the McFarland Racing pits for a moment after that run, which was fun for me to see. Last thing I expect to see watching Adam The Woo is Cleetus and crew! I also liked that you called out the random multi-color Honda minivan. It's really a salvage Tesla model S "Plaid" chassis, with a rollcage and a shelled out Honda minvan body welded on top, because the wheel base matches, and, you know - for the laughs. Same builder has another Honda minivan with a 1,000 horsepower turbo engine and custom all-wheel drive, it's super loud and fast too. It's Kyle Wade from the Boosted Boiz youtube channel. Nice kid. For some reason I imagine TheDailyWoo viewers and Cleetus McFarland viewers Vien Diagram to have a tiny cross-over. How many of us subscribe to both, and have for years? I feel like I'm one of a small club. 😁

There is nothing like the rumble of a finely tuned engine. We grew up on dirt round tracks and drag strips. I miss the days that when you turned the key you can feel the the car crank. The lope of the cam the feel when you put your foot in it and the 4 barrel sounded like it was going to suck the hood in and that was just my every day driver. 😉 thanks so much, Adam. Welcome to the world of drag racing, Adam. Drag and drive events, as these are referred to, are incredibly cool, especially when you start to see what some of these big guys can do. We’re talking THOUSANDS of horsepower shoved into a street car that has to drive an arduous circuit on public streets with checkpoints along the way they have to take photos at to prove they made it there. They don’t just hop on I-4 and head West. I’ve only photographed Hot Rod Drag Week for several years and it’s exciting. Glad you enjoyed yourself. This is just a small taste of drag racing. It’s very cool.
