Street photography at night present certain challenges. It is also very exciting. People in Naples Italy were extremely friendly and gracious. Testing Sony a 7iii for low light.This episode is about my favourite kind of Street photography - Street photography at night. My camera setup was Sony a7iii and 85 f 1.8 lens. This combination allows me to photograph pretty much anything handheld.

I think Naples have amazing quality of light it is combination of southern sun and reflection from the sea. I filmed a few video clips around the city and later I will produce a video about it.
I like to give myself assignments when I'm going on a shoot, not just wander around. Having a plan doesn't stop me from taking interesting opportunities, but I feel that I can concentrate my creative potential better, if I have some idea of what I'm going to photograph.
I must say that a few people warned me of being careful in walking and taking pictures in the side streets of poor neighbourhoods in Naples.
I only had wonderful experience there. During the day and at night everybody I met was extremely gracious and nice.
Finally a few technical notes. Very impressive performance of Sony camera I really like it's combination with 85mm lens. In general I like to shoot Street photography at night with slight telephoto, like 85 mm. It allows me to build compact compositions around light sources without too much dark areas in the image. I notice that camera autofocus was performing best with central area selected. When I try to use automatic focus selection, camera was constantly confused with different details in the image. In respect to low light conditions camera delivered excellent results I shot most of the pictures at 1600 to 3200 ISO with exception of the football game shot at 6400. It is indeed grainy at 6400 ISO, but quality of the image at this higher ISO also very much depends on the quality of lighting. Yellow Street light doesn't help. Still I must say I do not have any reservations to use these images.
