Samuel, I wonder, why is it that you don't use tele lenses? For me that derby is such an opportunity for getting closer to distant subjects with a Tele zoom. Is it a principles thing? Love your content.

Good question😂 For my mission to capture flying hats a Tele lens would have been the best choice. But I personally don't like the look of Tele photo images. I like a normal field of view in my images and then go closer if I need to. If I would have to do a proper reportage on the event I would use a Tele photo lens alongside a wide angle. And actually I was suppose to review a sigma tele photo lens in this video but it never arrived so I used my lenses instead😄

How about the automatic focus of that camera against the Ricoh?

I don't know if that would be interesting enough. The Ricoh works best with snap focus. And I use zone focusing or manual focusing with my Nikon a lot.

The cruellest and most barbaric of all sports. Horses die for the pleasure of humans. 1,500 alone are dispatched each year off course, their crime? They’re too slow. Then there’s the hundreds that die on course whilst humans eat and drink and are oblivious to the suffering. Shame on you for advocating and encouraging this disgusting so called sport.

Chloe, thanks for pointing that out. Actually I do agree with you and it wasn't my intention to advocate for the practice of horse racing. I have changed the title and thumbnail yesterday to improve the performance of the video. And it probably reads as if I am pro horse racing. I will make some changes. I still believe derbies are good places to practise street photography though. But I see your point!
