Street play, also known as 'nukkad natak', are a way of engaging and mobilizing common public by a mix of vocal, music and sometimes dance performance.
It is an effective medium to drive across important social messages in a way that entertains and engages the audience. They are a powerful way of getting the message across.
At the environmental awareness event at Jantar Mantar on 12th July 2019, Nitish Sharma, a talented street play performer, associated with Tapas, put up an important play about the extent to which plastic has pervaded our lives and ecosystems and the immediate need for action and change.
