STREET RUNNING and More In Lewistown PA! Juniata Valley Railroad & NS Action! July 12th 2021.

2 жыл бұрынIn todays video from my "GREAT TRAINCATION" Train Vacation, my buddy Joey and I went on over to Lewistown Pennsylvania which sees lots of action from the Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh sub, but most importantly is the home town for the Juniata Valley Railroad, a local short line railroad which runs through Lewistown. What's really cool is that the JVRR runs through the street in Lewistown making for quite a neat sight to see! I hope you all enjoy todays video, thanks for watching!

Excellent video.The footage of the street run was good but I really like the shot of the switcher as it passed that old Monte Carlo and Dodge truck. Thanks for the interesting video.

Hey Corey, some good shots here. I lived in Lewistown 28 years. Back when it was a 4 track mainline as part of the Pennsylvania Railroads Middle Division. Two tracks east, two tracks west. Lots of action around that station back in the day. There was a tunnel under all four tracks going over to the East bound tracks. They filled it in but you can still see the entrance. There was a pretty big structure over there at the time. I can’t imagine how many passenger trains stopped. Now there’s only one - The Pennsylvanian - on its run to Pittsburgh. One headed east too. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comment David!! It seems that way when I last visited, things definitely felt like they used to be much busier than what we saw but still it was a fun day!
