that electric lawnmower has a nice electric motor with good copper in it, sometimes they can be a pain to get out but i think its worth taking, some lawnmower decks are made of aluminum, handle bars are usually steel, if you seperate the parts it can be good money, most flywheels on lawnmowers ive gotten are aluminum and not usually difficult to take off with basic tools

I try to go junking early, because I despise cord cutters. Most things still work, and I can clean up and resell electronics.

I noticed last week that Moreland has put an end to hard rubbish weeks. Now its appointment only. I can see Darebin following them probably next year as we also have a weird Extreme Left Council

I maybe one out but I don't prefer the street scrap videos to the scrap marathons you do. Maybe because I'm Australian too. I particularly like the processing board videos you do. Yes, I sat & watched the cable processing video for an hour + and loved it! 🙂

There is 3 ounces of copper in a magnetron. How much copper is in an all-aluminum transformer? If you pick up a microwave with the power cord already cut off and the transformer doesn't have any copper in it, all those other things you clip out of the microwave don't add up to what's in the magnetron. Plus, you get some nice magnets too!

I also have a Washing machine motor attached to my car engine🤣🤣

In England scrapmen legal pick ups, are changing, they have to have a special licence to take fridges and freezers due to the gas cylinder at the bottom, & they won't be able to pick up washing machine/ tumble dryers and microwaves. Our local rubbish collection that you have to pay for them to take away. More fly tipping rubbish

The magnetrons do have good magnets in them though.

You’ll see less personal pcs too since we’ve gone to iPads. CD, DVD, VCRs, land line telephones are things of the past.

that is an alternator lol ,there is no residual power left in microwaves after they have been unplugged for 24HRS i strip microwaves incl the ali off the magnatron :D

When you see an electric mower you don't take them. Are they not worth scraping the motor? You would think there is plenty of copper in it.

The cord cutting kinda bugs me. I guess if you don't do it someone else will. It just turns potentially repairable items into trash. I guess they could be rewired.
