Another beautiful day for a treasure hunt! We hit the ground running with a few decent scrap metal finds, and ended up filling up pretty quick with some help from a friend. (Thanks for the BBQs Brad!) Along the way however, we found all sorts of unexpected bonuses, and although it looks like a short run, we finished the day strong with processing and listing and all in all, today was a very good day!
Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3sirg18
The motorized stripper: amzn.to/3y0JMuQ
The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
The grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
The melting furnace: amzn.to/3EGxT2q
(If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)

Hey man I love how you hand off your cans to the can guy. We gotta help each other out. For years I've been giving my cans to the same guy in my neighborhood, but he passed away back in February. RIP, Rod. You were a real one.

Dang, sad to hear about Rod. Humans are so frail in some ways. I try to share when I have the opportunity, I remember when cans were my main squeeze so I know how it always made my day when someone threw me a bag. Which happened pretty often actually!

Personally I know I would be extremely grateful to be handed cans like thub did. I’m young disabled so every penny counts and collecting cans and bottles is one of the easiest forms of income for me at the moment. Thanks for putting the good vibes out there for others in need ❤

My southern Brother. You absolutely need a Truck Broom. You need to remember the Klondike Gold Rush started in Edmonton. Our streets are sanded in Gold. Gemstones, silver, etc are also prominent int the sands we use in the winter. You sweep up after smashing that bbq. But you put it in a Rona bucket take it home and pan it out. Lafarge is one of the biggest suppliers for our winter sanding. They mine along the North Saskatchewan River and I used to stealth camp at an abandoned Lafarge mining site and Pan and sluice. So the road sand contains flour gold and sometimes nuggets. I’ll do community service and go around and sweep up sand for free with just a 5 gallon bucket. Take it home and pan it out. Even the Flames country gets sand from us. So in spring don’t throw your road sand in the black bin. But a Rona Bucket to classify and pan in the winter in my living room. It’s called Urban Prospecting (KZfaq it😂🤣🤪)Not getting rich but saving it all up. It’s not about the money but about the treasure hunt, for Me. Scrapping is Treasure Hunting. I’m just starting to get back on my feet but consider you an awesome mentor. Finally get my new truck tomorrow so I can get back into the game. Would love to connect, collaborate and learn from an awesome mentor. Check my channel out please. No scrapping vids yet but planning. Got an awesome idea of a BoA for scrapping. Challenges throughout our Alberta winter and cash in in the spring. Connect via X @FREDdaBunny

Thub you're a beast! Field stripping the bbq and putting the plastic into the garbage was an ace move. Homeowner approved. I do a lot of stick welding on thin pipe and you have to do it in thin passes of no more than second or you'll blow through the metal as you do. Best is quick hits and then wait a few seconds to cool. As the metal thickens in the area you can go a little bit longer but not much. That was a tough repair you tried. But good effort!

Elm is everywhere over here in West Yorkshire/England/U.K. the street below me was called Elm Avenue. Thank the Lord it wasn't Elm Street........... I would have had to sleep with one eye open and not slept. This was a Great ride along and was interesting to watch. It's a shame that the price of metals to sell to them hasnt gone up. In Australia, poly prophet was getting $0.13c per lb but not for long and then also went down to $0.02 per lb which is disgraceful because some people have to do this to feed their family but get little reward.
