Maybe you didn't earn enough stars from points? Every 40,000 points without dying gives the running attack an upgrade, and you can tell by how many stars there are on the HUD (up to three).

Relatively old comment I know but if this was SOR2 where doing damage is on average more important then avoiding it, I might agree, but in SOR3, the game is more about avoiding damage and that special is completely invulnerable, where as Corkscrew kick is not.

This game also nerfed one of his other attacks.. When you grab an enemy from the front, hold backwards and attack, he does that swinging kick to the gut that hits a few times. It was much more powerful in SOR2, but it's almost useless in this game.

The sor2 version is slower and has no crowd knock back though it'll hit enemies standing in the same spot like a regular attack would. I'll agree it's probably worse in 3 but almost everything is worse in terms of damage relative to 2.

Pretty much! Grand Upper for example is practically broken in SOR2, and borderline useless in SOR3. I guess they were going for a better balance, which in fairness, SOR3 is a bit more balanced, SOR2 became super easy once you understood all the possible attacks and combos, where SOR3 makes you work harder for it. That said, I also felt that SOR3's overall felt "loose" compared to SOR and SOR2. Felt more Final Fight-ish, but maybe that was just me.

Super late comments - but the Fan made Remakes of SOR are AMAZING and the rosters are HUGE. So, if ya wanna play Adam, Max, Zan, Shiva, Roo ( the list goes on)...one can just Google and download. I have nothing to do with the remakes' creation, programming, or distribution. I am just a fan who loves a good old school game.

Either of Skate's throws are allowed to work on those enemies. Blaze's front slam and Shiva's normal slam can work too.

It's not tool-assisted. Health lost from using Special Attacks before the meter fills varies depending on how full the meter is. If the meter is 5 or 6 bars full in the US version, you lose no health.

Falling in the pits in this game does not count as a deaths, because the playable characters jump right back onscreen. You still lose quite a bit of health for falling in. Another way to tell it doesn't count as a death is by not losing a star after falling in, since getting the stars require you not to die while getting 40,000 points per star, up to three stars.

Israel Alvarado No, the game on the real console sounds nothing like this, which is why I made the complaint. I have the real game and three genesis consoles of varying HW revisions, none of them sound like this. The sound in this emulator is very off. Notes in certain songs are played in the wrong order or are missing, DAC sounds are corrupted and the PSG is off as well.

The easiest way to catch one is wait for one to attack you and counter with a special attack. While she is down, you can attack her as she gets up. Another thing to keep in mind is that Lisa is the aggressive one that will try to kick you. Mona is the passive twin that can throw or suplex you when you're caught and fire ground projectiles.
