SOR2 will always be my favourite, but SOR4 is an amazing addition to the franchise.

Once you take the nostalgia glasses off you realise Sor4 is the greatest beat em up ever made.

Streets of Rage 4 is quite possibly the best sidescrolling beat 'em up to come out since the mid-90's.

Makes sense it has SF references in this game. One of them being the “Kikosho” move from Chun-Li which Blaze uses aswell which is sick and also Rekkaken which Fei Long uses! So cool!

SOR4 was my first in the series even though I grew up in the Genesis era, it is very satisfying! The closest I played in the 90s was Fighting Force.

One of the finest beat em up game ever out out. Absolutely love the art style, combo system and playing with friends using Steam remote play.

I actually love the art style for some reason. I dropped out of gaming for some time, due to lack of time and some other issues in life. A friend of mine had this on xbox one when it first came out and I played it with him and the next day I bought an xbox one just to play this game. It got me back into gaming on a semi regular basis. Love the game although I haven't mastered it as well as I did with number 2. I'll definitely go back to it.

What this is all about is this truly incredible and special and it's just a beautiful thing that people with great minds think alike can come together and bring something so amazing like this. I never ever thought streets for was ever going to happen after playing 3 long long time ago on the elementary school and what I heard about for and dug into the history of what's going on for it to become possible it is truly amazing. I wish more game developers and team and staff would work together just like these guys did to bring this great video game because the story about this is truly truly special

Bought the physical edition for Switch. Great Beat em Up game. Never played the older games on the Sega systems. Double Dragon, Final Fight and Turtles were my beat em up games back on the Snes.

I greatly appreciate how much work all the people are who are involved in making this game! I follow at least one or two of the artists on Twitter, and always love how people re-invent music that both reminds people of the previous games, as well as makes something new! Now after saying all that... I haven't gotten around to buying it yet, as I have a couple other beat-em-ups that I haven't even touched yet.

S0r2 and 4 are the best imo easily they have the best music and atmosphere too s0r4 is chefs kiss the combat is immaculate Cherry Estelle S0r2 blaze S0r4 and 3 Axel adam Floyd roo and both shivas are my favorites to use.

SOR2 will always be my favourite but i really like SOR4 though.

Best characters : Streets of rage 3 axel : because he can run and Streets of rage 4 adam : his semi-special attacks can overpower the rolling big boys.

the only thing i would say about streets of rage 4 is the unlockables are really aimed at todays generation of gamers. fro someone from the past may have been there done that.

my favourite new beat them up are Dragon's Crown, River City Girls, and Phantom Breakers. Sections of the Neir Automaton were very close to beat them up type game play too though it did a lot of different genres. Street of Rage 4 and TMNT Shredder's Revenge were the best of the beat them ups of all time.

If I were in production I'd have Axel be in his prison clothes while fighting in a gaulet because of his addiction to fighting. Also, have Roo and that other character be a cameo and fight beside you on a specific stage.

I did work on a pitch demo back in 2007 for "sor4" that was shown to Sega, prior to this game's release that look exactly like this art style.💯 I worked on producing the demo's soundtrack. We borrowed heavily from Sor2 & 3.

Most reviews or opinions from modern IGN should be taken with a grain of salt. IGN staff did insult, on a personal level, Stellar Blade designers after all. Their staff members also claimed Resident Evil 4 was racist...

Roo IS selectable with a code. SOR 3 only, but still. I 've waited so long to play as Adam that I am 90% of the time playing as him. The rest is SoR 1 Adam or SOR 4 Max.

The art style looks more lare 90s comic and less anime to me personally. I think it fits the game overall to be honest. Probably wouldn't have been my first choice but I also don't dislike it at all. Kind of reminds me of Comix Zone especially with the shirt tied around the waist on Axel. The exception being the Y twins, they look and move very anime. Mr. Y looks like Soma Cruz from Castlevania Aria of Sorrow

Sor 3 sprites were crazy detailed for genesis. I was hoping the sor 4 sprites would be to be more of an enhanced and updated version of sor 3.

SOR4 is awesome and I was so happy they didn't screw it up. I wish the same team could do a Splatterhouse 4 and bring it back to its roots and greatness. I was not a fan of the direction they took with Splatterhouse 2011 stylistically, or the Heavy Metal music.

The only thing I didn't care for was the hit counting system. Outside that, it's a great game right up there with a lot of the other major recent beat-em-ups and a good successor to the original series.

Streets of rage 4 was what I was telling my chick when playing and having her learn about the old school versions before the new one came out. I told her wouldn't it be awesome if they put an hour days technologies into a 2D beat em up?! The crazy part is they actually did it a year at later and kept making them including the notorious TMNT Shredder's revenge. Got a hold of the company and inspired them to work on X-Men immediately after they finished TMNT. Then highly suggested they should do Power Rangers, Tribute games that is.

I got this game and the new Double Dragon. I can play like a kid again, but somehow, do worse lol! I love these kind of games more than I did then as they are rare with the bonus of being done so well. It's embarrassing for IGN to give it a 7 out of 10.

if only running (forward forward) mechanics and dodges ( up up , down down) were added, they add more to the fighting strategy and speed of the game.
