Go to a mirror, open your mouth wide and use the flashlight on your phone to check if the roof of your mouth has red spots and if your tonsils have pus. If it does, alongside the sharp pain in you feel when swallowing, then you most certainly have strep throat. In that case, visit an ENT doctor immediately to get prescriptions for antibiotics, anti-inflammatory sprays, and painkillers if necessary. The sooner you treat it the better. Im currently experiencing Strep Throat and it hurts like hell, no one deserves to go through this much pain. I hope this helps somehow.

I was affected by this severely and now I'm completely alright . It took me just 3 days to heal. All you have to do is gargle with warm salt water as soon as you wakeup and sip warm liquids. And also add lime juice in warm water before sleeping. It helps and don't worry you'll be alright soon.

So, im 10 years old and today i went to the docters because my throat was hurting. While i was in there, i had to have a swabbed sorry i dont know how to spell it. And they came back and said i have strep throat. I was crying! I didnt know what to and it was contagious so now i cant be near my little bro and baby sis and hig my mom and dad. This is the second time I have had strep in my life. The first time was I was in high school and now I am 23. I knew it was strep because my tonsils started to swell up making it really hard to breathe on top of that the discoloration was a key factor. I did manage to get treatment at first sign which was today. I took my first dosage the SECOND I RECEIVED MY ANTIBIOTICS and now I am just counting down the hours to my next pill because when I tell y’all it’s like glass is in your throat. You can’t sleep, eat, or drink because everything is so painful and I’m literally dying. I need 6:40 to hurry tf up!

Strep throat can be more dangerous as you get older. I know this, I’m in my mid-40’s. I felt horrible and hospitalized not too long ago. But thank goodness it was only the flu and nothing else.

Apparently many people have chronic strep and/or sore throat and god I can't imagine... The last time I had strep was probably 12 years ago as a kid. I had it recently all of October. Went to doctor, took the meds... aaand it came back. I'm taking meds from the doctor again and I hope it goes away 😞 stay strong and stay safe everyone. Edit: my doctors said that it's okay to take OTC meds for pain relief when needed such as Ibuprofen or Tylenol along with Nasal sprays so long as it doesn't interact with the antibiotic. I highly suggest this and taking a Probiotic at least 2 hours before or after the antibiotic so it won't interfere.

Tequila and vodka with lemon and honey as well as warm water salt gargle killed all the strep in my throat when I caught it. Would immediately spit out chunks! Drink it slowly and let it really get all over your throat next time. Hopefully there is no next time.

@@erod6468 🤦🤦Do not give medical advice if you are not a medic. What you were spitting out was not Streptococcus bacteria, but puss from irritating your throat so badly. Doing this can cause a superinfection in your throat from another virus or bacteria and you are done!

@@catalinaga it was diagnosed as streptococcus, cultured and was positive. The puss was already there before the gargles and the drink but was much less visible after the chunks I spit out. Almost gone the night after. I was prescribed Amoxcicilin, but did not take it and when I went back to my doctor, he was surprised how good my throat had healed and that the infection had subsided within the week. I told him what I did and although he said he did not recommend that, he said "there are old world medicines and treatments that work, these potentially being 2 of those ". Still told me to take and finish the antibiotics, but I never did since I felt good and did not want to take unnecessary antibiotics. Not a doctor, but it's worth a try from experience. Of course, you don't have to do it, but it has helped me and 3 others that I recommended this to.

I don’t know what it is as I have been searching for this for a while now, but during summer whenever I sleep with the fan on, I end up with this sandpaper feeling when I wake up in my throat for like an hour and then it goes away. It kinda feels like the time when you get a cold and your throat feels all sandpapery.

Virus: runny nose, cough, sore throat. Bacteria:sore throat. I don't have a runny nose but I cough like hell. My throat also hurts like a knife slicing through warm butter... I think that I'm gonna die.

Got rid of mines in one day, I mix the cayenne pepper powder with salt and clove powder in warm water. I gargle it a few times and spit it out. I also took antibiotics ( apo 500)

For me i used sea salt mixed with warm water and if i have to i put in vinegar as well and start gargling the water until I'm confident enough to finish gargling the whole cup (of course you don't swallow it)

Apple cider vinegar helps too, but you do want to get those antibiotics regardless.

1) One week and worse than ever - doctor said it would go after four days. 2) Left hand side of throat only 3) Cannot swallow without whole body shuddering 4) Pain now gone into left ear 5) No fever, no coughing, no runny nose 6) Wake up unable to open mouth or speak 7) Can taste poisons (had a similar experience with tonsillitis ten years ago) Due to see doctor again in a few hours but she will probably tell me to bugger off and have a lozenge.

I was tested positive for Strep A and I have a stuffy nose and dizziness along with the classic signs of sore throat and puss pockets. I also cough ocasionally not often. So, I think it's different for everyone.

I remember having strep throat when I was in elementary school and my god was it the worse, I keep drooling all over my pillow during my sleep and I felt so weak that getting up was a problem and that's mostly from the lack of food I ate cause how awful it felt swallowing down my food and man did I feel better when the doctors cured me and finally I was able to eat my food and water without pain, I just hope i won't go through that again.

My 4 year old daughter had a Strep throat. Just like doctor said, she had no running nose but a sore throat and pus like inflammation at the back of the throat and tonsils. Her fever would go as high as 104 and was very stressful as even paracetamol and meftal wouldn't bring the temperature down. Had to keep sponging her with luke warm water to reduce the fever. Augmentin DDS 450mg twice a day, started showing results after 4 days. So now I am going to remember that if the throat hurts and there is no running nose, it's most probably a Strep throat.

I have a Strept Throat. 1- Whenever I cough, It feels like a knife repeatedly stabbing my throat 2- Liquid is fine, but when I swallow. It feels like a cut going through it. 3- Food is also fine for me, nothing really happens. 4- My runny nose isn’t that bad, but i have it. That’s all.

Salt water. Gargle. Magic. I wish I knew earlier but I just tried it and I’m so thankful. I’m doing it every hour so that I can be freed from this pain.😭 Even the antibiotics and medications my doctor prescribed didn’t even help. I’ve had strep for about 4 days now.

@@needforspeedgaming7148 I ended up seeing a different doctor and gave me the right antibiotics. My fever’s gone after I took the first tablet. My lymph nodes have gone back to normal now as well as my tonsils. It took about a week for me to fully recover.
