Try swapping the bus cables around and ensure there is a termination plug on both unused bus ports. Also get yourself a 3000VA UPS unit, they are pretty cheap and you just plug the 110/240V in for the tank and be done. Just leave the chiller and heater out of UPS, or if you get a decent one you can have non critical devices separated that will be turned off automatically at a set battery level (i.e. my heater and chiller get turned off at 50% battery level).

You think I could just plug the xp8 into one of the ups outlets?

You can also plug a 5v power pack into the mains power (not through UPS) as well, then connect its output to the 10v input port on X4 and setup a "power outage" mode on X4 with the 5v power pack triggering a button to change modes and turn off the big power items/devices (like lights, heaters etc) automatically to conserve more power.

I have the OceanGuard 435 and I also struggle with the water level after water changes or when I shut off the return pump. I have to adjust it all the time. I'm trying to figure out if it's the gate valve or maybe the silencer thing that floats on top of the main drain. I'm thinking of trying to run it like a normal herbie and remove the float thing. If problem persists I may switch the gate valve to a spears gate valve.

Makes me feel little better I’m not the only one struggling lol gonna try taking the float/silencer thing out and see what happens!

You don't want anything on top of the main drain as it should be fully submerged running a syphon (and the top of the main drain pipe should only come halfway up in the overflow), there should be no need for any silencer. If it is setup correctly there should be basically zero sound but maybe this company messed up the design.....

You need to downgrade the software and then upgrade again. The software got corrupted. As for the water level change, your gate valve. The stock gate valve they give you is garbage.
