I add yarn overs between the icord stitches as I knit and drop them as I slip the three stitches. This adds a bit more stretch and looks very consistent. It’s fun to see so there are so many methods to achieve the same results.

YES YES... Love I-cord everywhere I add it to most every shawl I do....... I also add a row when having to turn corners... makes the corners block beautifully I also use a 2x larger needle when doing an add-on I-cord and sometimes 3 extra rows- spaced when turning corners...

I do that!!!! Love it!!! I do it about every 4th row... Just learned an i-cord cast on where you do a yarnover....game changer & easier to count!!! Slip 3, yarnover, knit 3, repeat as recommended...

Your such a great teacher Mr. West & I love your enthusiasm it’s so genuine and pair all that with your bubbly personality. It’s no wonder why your called Mr. West , I love you ! I can’t wait to order one or two of your books and use the stretchier I-Cord cast on. I’m going to try your bone yard shawl and just go completely organic & wild with random colors. Thanks for loving what you do!

I bought your Painting Chevrons pattern for two reasons. I've, I love chevrons. Two, after watching another i-cord video you did I became fascinated with i-cord edges. Painting Chevrons gives me both! I'm also doing and applied i-cord border in a coordinating color on a baby blanket that I'm working on. Thank you for the inspiration!

I used to knit icord pretty tight and hated I cord. I finally figured out to not snug up my stitches at all and it was much better. But your giving a little EXTRA to each stitch seems even better. I'll try that next time. Thanks!

You are a master. Your outside the box thinking is so beautiful. I wish I had even a little bit of your abilities to design. By the way, I'm one of your fellow guy knitters. I just bought your classic designs pdf book. Looking forward to trying side of them, even though we don't get to wear them much in Phoenix, AZ, where it's over 100° a lot, lol. Thanks for being you👍😃

That’s what I’ve always done and not just for i-cord edges. I’ve always needed to do this on the top of crescent shawls, and some other shapes as well, any time that I’m not satisfied with the tension of the edge.
