I had to do a similar thing later in high school after getting less than 770 on the math portion of my SAT, but I was able to get away with just that after I bumped my score up. I was super mad about it at first since I saw myself only going into liberal arts, but way later down the line I ended up in a math oriented job so I’m begrudgingly like “..........yeah, MAYBE that was a good idea.....”

Make ups don’t exist. And neither do extra credit. A grade above 100% don’t exist since extra points are for the inferiority. You got bad grades? You fail.

You're right, I do have privilege, I am not unaware of it. You are aware of how overly agitated you sound, right? Calm down; it's just a comment section. You are correct, though. I got a 79% overall grade, making it a C. I didn't do very well with the math in that class due to the fact that my family had just moved, and the Ohio school system was different from the one in Texas. That being said, I had finished all of my other science credits and had no choice BUT to take senior physics a year early. The math systems in Texas and Ohio did not match up, so I was taking the Algebra 2 class which taught the formulas that were applied in the Physics class. Essentially, I had to put into practice formulas I had not yet learned. I studied my ass off, but the lack of experience with the formulas themselves made it a bit difficult to crunch the numbers for tests. I understood the ideas in the class, and approached my teacher to see if he had any ideas on how to get my grade up. He proposed that I make Rube Goldberg machine with at least 30 reactions, and he would consider grading that project, and bumping my average grade up to an 80% to get the B. I spent every afternoon and every weekend I had when not working at my job (had to get the money for the materials to make the machine from somewhere), working on the machine. After about two months I had finished it, and I got my grade bumped up one point. I also went to high school a VERY long time ago, so it is possible that courses (you may not be aware, but IB courses are only taught at a very small number of schools in the US; less than 1000) no longer give extra credit. I was a teacher for 10 years, but not in the US, so I can't comment on the current US high school experience.
