Wow, you really have great videos for these tips. I had to rethink my lifestyle choices since I started staying up until 3 AM, sleeping in and always showing up late. LOL. You have another video about a Chopin piece taught by a lady (Eva? sorry if I didn't get the name correct) but she also talked about a stride technique. Another great video with helpful hints. I think this was an older video, she impressed me with her teaching style also.

I wish you had shown what you were doing when you added sevenths near the end. I couldn't see exactly how or where you added notes. You over-demonstrated the simplest things and then skipped right over explaining what notes you added when it got more complicated. Thank you. BTW, is "no pedal" a governing principle of stride? Do you pretty much never pedal in stride?
@contemporaryschoolofpiano
@contemporaryschoolofpiano Жыл бұрын
Pedaling in stride piano can be a very useful tool, but it can also muddy the sound if used improperly or excessively. It's always beneficial to practice without pedal initially, to ensure that you are playing the notes cleanly and accurately. The pedal should be used as a means to enhance the sound, not cover up technical issues. Additionally, focusing on the technique of playing 7th chords, I have another video on our channel that looks at that topic in much detail kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j5qSorCavrSbink.html

Don’t know if it’s just me but when you talk you’re practically drowned out by the piano. It doesn’t help to up the volume…it ups the piano too obviously. Love your playing

Hmm haven't had much of that feedback, maybe try another device? A good approach is to turn on the subtitles, they are perfectly transcribed by our team, so the text is 100 percent accurate.

@@contemporaryschoolofpiano No, the commentator was right. The keyboard is very loud compared to your voice. And you could drop completely the very loud and obtrusive "background" music at the beginning, while you're making your intro. It obscures the narration. Thank you.

@@bettyrouch1833 I beg to differ, if you're listening to high-fidelity sound on that little tin known as the 'phone speaker,' it's like trying to enjoy a gourmet meal through a straw. The blame lies not with the chef, but with the straw... So for those with underwhelming speakers, the subtitles are your new best friends! Click that little button on KZfaq, it also really helps with making these videos accessible with some of the more challenging topics. And while we're at it, it's always worth investing in good headphones or a swanky Bluetooth speaker. I promise everyone, it will make the difference between 'musical torture' and 'melodious bliss.' You've got my word!" As for the obstructive theme music I lovingly composed, I can only apologize for indulging in being a composer as well... a terrible habit of mine really...perhaps I should do a seminar on the infamous LCSP theme music....for those of you with good ears, what chords do you think I'm using on this soundtrack??

@@bettyrouch1833 I didn't think about that at all. I was listening what he was saying and I didn't have to struggle or really try to hear what he was saying. I was watching on my pc with good headphones though. Maybe if you listen on your phone with some cheaper headphones or if there is some background noise that could be a problem.
