sorry i'm all over the place I tried not to spoil stuff for the re write but also try to make sense of striker in general like even though we've seen striker like 3 times he's still kinda a blank character plus with S2 changing so much with everyone its hard to get a full read on him so I really had to think also sorry for the lack of pics and gifs I kinda ran out of time for all that but I think I got my ideas across well enough XD

I like the idea of Striker not cursing at all. It would make him seem more serious and professional and help him stand out from the rest of the cast. It doesn't even have to be acknowledged, just a fun character detail

Feel like they made Striker a villain/antagonist because they knew that if Striker was a good guy or morally grey then they would have to address Stolas and his beliefs for the lower class. From what we have seen Stolas has grown up believing imps are inferior and he is naturally better than them because he’s royalty, he also seems to talk down to Blitz a lot and overall they have a pretty unhealthy dynamic when you think about it. However they couldn’t bring any of that up because Stolas is supposed to be sympathetic and a ‘ good guy ‘ , so Striker has to be a bad guy because of that. To me it all seems very tone deaf?? Like why would you treat a revolutionary that’s trying to fight against the status quo and commentates on how imps are treated as lesser when they could definitely rise above most higher ups like a villain? (Run on sentence I know) god forbid we have any proper commentary on anything because then our poor-wittle-gay owl man has to be lovable (sorry if this doesn’t make any sense btw)

Striker being able to breathe underwater would make for a super cool fight scene between him and Moxxie and/or Blitzø

Finally he looks like an actual cowboy thats used to heavy work, and his jaded atitude really shows here. (i swear a lot of the outfits of the og characters look like costumes, viv's hell always game me halloween vibes and now i realize why)

The long hair, scars and muted colors does give Striker a more dangerous and rugged look. I also don't understand why Striker would even work for Crimson who kills people who owe him money and takes pieces of them as trophies.

The fucking statue totally lost me. I was trying so hard to defend helluva boss and think it’s gonna get better but the whole statue thing totally took me out, which is unfortunate because I LOVED striker. Now, he’s just another 20 villains in the story

And now that you mentioned the swearing with striker I think that’s why he’s considered more serious to take in the first season because formality and seriousness is really shown compared to his dialogue when talking to others. Usually when someone swears it feels more like a joke or something to take aggressively but with him talking more casually without swearing you feel more at ease and willing to listen and pay attention to him

Striker is the hero we need but don’t deserve. Hes was the only villain that was interesting and menacing

I feel like if Striker were to have a character arc he would come to be more of an anti-villain because it seems like in your rewrite he wants justice for the low class imps. Which would be really good idea for a series like helluva boss.

When it comes to comedic assassins, i wish more writers/story tellers take notes off of TF2 Specifically Sniper! "be polite, be efficient and have a plan to kill everyone you meet" type stuff all the while screaming and waving a large knife around

You know, if this was Strikers actual canon desing, i would totally understand why everyone in the show was calling him hot/sexy. You really gave him that cowboy/outlaw charm that was laking for me in his OG desing.

I would love to see a lineup of pure bred imps from every ring just for a reference for what a basic imp would look like in said ring

"And got my AU brain going." God, that's such a mood; can't tell you how many AUs I've made up that my brain just latch on to. Or other people's AUs...if it's interesting enough, my brain won't let it go for a while.

I typically dont like commenting, but i had an intersting idea that could make this au of striker more scary/ intimidating. Having him wear spurs. I feel like this could make certain sences feel intense when hearing the metal clinking together- making stolas or blizto or anyone else paroniod about where the sound is coming from and then become shocked when stiker leaps towards them. I feel like this would also make him feel more snake like- like a rattle snake warning its prey or its pradators that its too close and that the rattle snake will strike if the prey/ pradators dont back up

On the topic of the jeans, my mom was a ranch hand. Jeans are required according to her when I asked for help to with what ware because when doing farm work for a friend. Even in hot weather usually because of ticks, snakes, dirt and things like that. Striker is probably dealing with dead tall grass a lot (places rattlesnakes and ticks love to hide) and I would have to guess snakes do at least exist in hell, probably not like earth animals probably way worse.

Striker has been my favoirte character for a long time and this was mainly due to his fighting scenes. Due to my own rewrite I decided that Striker needed a reason to hate royalty, and part of that is due to me giving him a dead little sister who "disrespected" a Goetia resulting in her death and nobody who would preform a proper burial due to her ancestry. I do want to hear more on your AU Striker because it has piqued my interest and I need more.

Honestly I really like this version of Striker. His character makes a LOT more sense the way you wrote it. Wish you were writing on the show because you kinda made character dynamics, designs and just general character drama for the show.

Omg, I honestly love the idea that Millie’s Parents wanted Striker to get with Millie. Honestly when I first watched the episode that is what I kinda thought what would happened. And honestly I was kinda disappointed. But I love this au so muchhhhhhh and I love your redesigns!!

He’s giving androgynous simply because of the lashes and hair He just looks so good and I am a SUCKER for villains with gorey backstory Hitman cowboys are always fun so I very much enjoyed listening to the process of Striker! Kinda sad he doesn’t have as busty of a chest anymore since, as a ranch worker plus an assassin, he’d have arm and pec muscles But that’s just a me thing Honestly, he _should_ have muscle in his legs as well since you need those to stay on the horse, and if you’re wrangling something with all of your limbs, you’re gonna need some strong legs to keep that critter in your grasp I like how he has an actual snout now and not just a weird point sticking out of an oval, his face was weird to look at before Anygays, he looks amazing!!!! Omg! I absolutely love this redesign/re-imagined! It gives him so much more story to work with and actually makes him seem more like a threat! And i absolutely adore how he has to change his appearance to hide and blend in to not get caught! So much depth and reason is something that is amazing in my eyes!

I never really thought about it when he was on screen, but after you made a point about it, yeah him looking so clean considering what he does and where he lives really makes him stand out in a bad way if you're paying attention to his part of the story. Makes me appreciate your design more since his clothes are more torn and fit in more with his story

Strikers my personal favorite so for him to share the same orientation as me is awesome! (AroAce rep!) This redesign is extremely well done, especially his true appearance. Can’t wait for more on the rewrite.

I really love this rewrite, also when you said “no ponytail for the next one” I was sad because I was thinking that’s it’s a fake one Then instead we have loose hair Striker and I LOVE IT And yeah same the statue disappointed me as well as most of the writing in the show And Yeehaw to our AroAce brutal cowboy

I also like to imagine demons grow strength by their level of sins. Striker envies the royals on top of being angry at them. This is why he is stronger than most imps. Blitz is strong too because of his lustfull flirtiness, anger at himself, envy for Fizz etc. This is why Moxxie is so weak. He is not sinful enough.

A thing I really like that you do in these redesigns/reimagines is giving the characters more realistic anatomy. I remember for Asmodeus you mentioned giving him ass because, well, embodiment of lust and all that. But it made me realize why I didn’t find any of the characters appealing or sexy, they’re basically twigs! And I find your designs a lot more appealing because they’re more proportionate. I also noticed the same thing with a lot of fanart, any depictions of sexy characters like Asmodeus give him an actual ass because without it, there’s just nothing 😂 But yeah, love the redesign and I’d love to see your ideas for an AU

HIs character makes so much sense in this au, even with the minimal information we have so far! I love the detail of him using clay, I can imagine some of it coming off in a skirmish.

You add so much depth and thought to the redesigns and i absolutely love it!

Whenever I see a re-design one of the helluva boss characters, I just get more amazed by the looks of them.

First off, I wanna say the redesign is awesome! The thought into every decesion is fun to watch/hear and it makes sense. I think how the show treats Striker reminds me of how characters like this are treat in media in general. When they are right but are then instantly villianized (be it a sudden shift in their character or they are given an extreme villainous trait) because we can't question the actual status quo or have people think about it. Like Killmonger from Black Panther or Daisy Fitzroy from Bioshock Infinite to name a couple. Characters with motivations for the betterment of their people/what's right but because what they stand for is correct (and translates into reality the same way if the audience understands this) they are given them one or two extreme actions that scream "I'm evil, remember? I'm the bad guy" so then critical thought about their motivations can be explained away as villain grandeur. I always find this weak in terms of writing, I say people should stop making their villain motivations justified if they want to keep them in the light of wrong/villiany (or let their protag lose/have a journey of realization, that's fine too). For Helluva Boss it's particularly bad given how the show is dead set on putting characters in a good light for the sake of a ship. I don't even get the point of doing it either, would be nice to see a shitty character change (or not, relationships in media do not have to be perfect) and earn something rather than be the victim because of writer context than actually being a victim. If they stopped trying to make Stolas "the good guy"/uwubifying him then he could have an amazing arc. I'm still annoyed how they made Stolas' marriage abusive to justify everything he's done within it. Or made him and Blitzo know each other from childhood (this is still weird to me) to justify him coercing Blitzo into a relationship. So damn lazy and neither justifies the behavior and they don't challenge either of these.

I'm liking the design especially with the hairstyle choice and outfit

I remember back when harvest moon came out I thought Striker was going to join the protagonists and become apart of I.M.P but maybe that was my brain going into overdrive over one episode, lol. It would work as a neat AU though. I like Striker as an antagonist-and this redesign helps fixes the problems going on with the show which is not treating him with the respect he deserves-and he looks ten times better than he does already 😊🎉 Honestly as long as Striker doesnt die in the show, im happy. Hes one of the few characters I hold any ounce of care for even after the disaster that was Western Energy

I’m not against Striker being a villain, well intentioned extremists can work great! I love when even if a villains doing bad things or going too far, it comes from a reason u can understand. He has valid points about the class system and suffice to say has dealt personally with the Ars Goetia hurting him and getting away with it because of their status. Perhaps his encounter with Striker can make Stolas reflect on his own mistakes and subconscious issues with how he’s treated imps and other lower classes, especially how it’s affected and hurt his relationship with Blitz. Stolas-You’re right. I never should’ve cheated. THAT was wrong! WHAT I’m not going to let anyone make me feel ashamed about is WHO I did it with! I’m certainly not perfect or a better person because I’m a Goetia, Strikers pointed that out very well at knife point for me! So how does havign feelings for someone like Blitz make it worse?! If anything, having him in my life has made me a far better person than I ever was!…I wish I told him that.

Pretty cool redesign, it makes him look more like Norman Reedus, and also your ideas for Harvest Moon Festival in your rewrite sound really interesting! Also I agree with you on Norman Reedus being better than Ed Bosco as Striker’s voice. Overall nice video!

I liked Striker when he was introduced but when he showed up again it kinda felt like wasted potential. The ideas added could've worked but it kinda felt like they were just jumping onto making fun of him and no longer having him be a serious threat way too soon. If anything, it could've just been interesting character building and give him more background, but now he feels more like a joke with lines sprinkled in about motivations. I also agree it was odd to have him and Crimson working together because it makes the world of Hell feel very small.. I also liked his design already but I like this redesign as well. I love the muted reds, the eyes and his hair. I like hearing about all the writing stuff as well, in particular your interpretations of the different imp/demon types, it shows how much thought you put into all the little things and it inspires me to try harder as well.
