Message, Music and Movie! Totally agree Stromae is an artist in the category (what we call in Dutch) ‘Gesamtkunstwerk’ or ‘Total Artwork’ meaning he makes art on all levels. This music is a combination of classical music and Brazilian funk in a unique and probably never heard configuration. And like always he is trying to give the perspective of multiple people on a particular subject. He created this song after seeing a documentary about sex trafficking and wants us to change our viewpoint on the women who do the work and are hero’s for it. Many of them do difficult things to support themselves and/or their families, which is incredible. And yet we give them the lowest rank in society and call them names. That is what I most love about his art, the fact he has changed my way of viewing the world many times. Thanks for the reaction, I hope you will do all his music. Greetings from the Netherlands.
