The song has a tragic back-story. Stromae lost his beloved father in the genocidal "Rwandan Genocide" dedicating this song, Papaoutai, to his father. Papaoutai translates to, "Dad, where are you?" which he's created. I dedicate all my respect to Stromae for all the things he must've faced and gotten through

That's what makes this song so good. It does extremely well at making you feel good, lyrics aside. However, the lyrics are still serious and beautiful.

When he went at home shouted and beated my mother because house wasn't ordered and why I cried! There are a lots story like, don't have impression!

My dad died 2007. He was bipolar, manic depressive since i was 11 or maybe 12. He wasnt sometimes there but when my dad was we did special things diners going out shopping i was daddys little girl but i knew he was ill. Verry ill. He asked me to forgive him because he too with his disease was a bad absanttee father. I was 25 then grown up it got me chocked up i couldnt speak... Because I remember the good times and I still miss him so terribly... Rip dad love Anne

My father had cancer and when the docters said there was nothing left to do my mother called my siblings and we saw him laying down taking his last breath he was in a coma. The treatment was taken in another country so that's why me and my siblings were in a call. than the docters were saying that we should take him to our country but than another doctor came and said that it's better for him to die in peace because when they will be returning he will have a lot of pain during this time me and my siblings weren't in a call because my mom was taking with the docter about taking him to the country. Than my mom called again and said all the things to us what the doctor said and we told our mom to show face of our dad..... And he passed away... I know how you feel about losing someone u dearly love and how they fade away Infront of your eyes. It is the most tragic moment of our lives. I was 9 when my father died. I was also my daddy's girl

Ilaria Bongiovanni I live in Argentina and we just have basic English classes (colors, numbers, etc) at school. If we want to learn good English or other languages we have to go to private teachers (if you can find one teaching the language you want). It's quite disappointing for someone who really likes languages like me :'(

This song is so beautiful, I love how the main line of the song is "where are you father?" I can definitely relate to this having grown up with an absent father, although I don't speak French too well I'm hoping to learn this song so I can sing it. I just love the emotion of the song

Очень классный клип! Всем советую слушать музыку в таком стили... это лучше чем всякий Guf и AK47 и даже лучше вашей Бсты!
