Back when there were only so many funny things to see, and it was humanly possible to have seen them all. Everyone wanted to be That Kid who knew all the funniest Ebaum's World and AlbinoBlackSheep and Newgrounds videos, who'd invite other kids over to his house after school so he could have his dad sign into the dial-up AOL and show them, and you could talk Pokemon cards while things took 10 minutes at a time to load. The good ol' days...

And yet simultaneously not enough. It's like all the Internet has condensed into a small number of huge sites (Facebook, Twitter, KZfaq, Amazon, Reddit, etc.) and the wild, smaller personal sites have all withered away.

I love how the Trogdor music video has the elaborate chiaroscuro shading over the drawings that Strong Sad did, implying Strong Bad forced his little brother to draw all of those assets.

FUN FACT: This email didn't originally have the Trogdor song in it. According to Matt and Mike's commentary in the SBEmail DVDs, Matt Chapman started singing it off the top of his head while making eggs, and The Brothers Chaps knew they had to put it in the email.

Sure, but triangles come in all kinds of configurations. A long "V" was an easy way of saving a long, upside-down isosceles triangle.

Because I found it in 2002 on Mardi Gras when the trogdor video was THE most recent strong bad email, that was the very first homestarrunner video I ever saw. My husband used to have the Trogdor song as his ringtone... One day he was in a meeting at work and forgot to turn the sound down on his phone... yeah, I'm sure you see where this is headed. 😆 He was so embarrassed when "TROGDOR!!!!" started screaming and everyone in the meeting stopped to look at him. 🤦‍♀️

2 guys, and the beauty of it was that they were slightly _less_ kid-friendly than anything on television at the time. Homestar Runner was children's entertainment that took its audience seriously, and that gave it an edge that nothing else had.

Anyways, belittling your peers is never, ever a good idea. Anime has been incredibly popular in Japan for a really, really long time. This doesn't mean that a large amount of anime was commonly adapted for western audiences until significantly later, so it didn't really even have much of a chance until the late 80's, early 90's. That said, I would love to hear what 70's anime your parents know about. Could be interesting to watch. I think there was an early 80's Golgo-13 movie that was released in other territories, but that's all that's coming to my mind right now.

Some of the easter eggs were as tiny as a pixel or two, you really had to look for some of them. Some of the easter eggs were longer than the original video. Just run the mouse back and forth forever, you'll find something. Sometimes if you waited long enough, something would randomly come up. I miss this flash site, and I really hope there is more like this out there

Yeah, the tab key was where it's at. The Homsar clip in here was actually an easter egg when you pressed one of the letters in Strong Mad's "DAGRON" carving.

I'm in the same boat, minus two to four years. I know I first saw it with my older brother, likely when I was in the second or third grade based on what I recall being around me then, which included the years 2000-2002. It likely predates those years, making it at least 12, possibly around 15 years old.

So here's a story: one time, in my old elementary school, we were talking about I forgot, and then, the teacher asked, "does anyone know homestar runner?" I was the only one that raised my hand, so the teacher played this sbemail, in front of the whole class, the trogdor song and all. That was the coolest thing my teacher has done. I miss that teacher... (I'm in middle school now)

I'm back here after watching a video from T900. (For those who don't know, he is the biggest Age of Empires 2 content creator) They just made an entire map with Trogdor's figure in it. Basically, his entire body is made of trees, 2 relics in his eyes, his teeth are stones and both the fire and the beefy arm are golds.

I was a manager at Office Depot for about 5 years. Our store was VERY MUCH "by the book", no tom foolery at all. I secretly added a Trogdor sketch to the "important info board" in the employee training room where the district manager would sit once a week and do conference zooms. I left there 3 years ago and I checked last week and it was still there.... TROGDOR!!!!
