Magnus is the reason I originally loved armwrestling.

Magnus Samuelsson (born December 21, 1969), is a Swedish actor, former strongman and winner of the 1998 World's Strongest Man contest in Morocco. He has also made it to the World's Strongest Man podium 5 times and the finals 10 times and is regarded as one of the best strongmen in history. The son of a former Swedish arm wrestling champion, he has also been ranked among the best arm wrestlers in Europe during his active years (early - mid 90's) with a second place in 1993 as his best performance. Samuelsson held the record for reaching the World's Strongest Man finals 10 times, a feat which he achieved over a 13-year span from 1995 to 2007. He has also achieved a podium place in WSM on five separate occasions. In 2001, Samuelsson became the overall champion of the Strongman Super Series. After competing in the IFSA Strongman World Championship in 2005, he returned to compete in the 2006 World's Strongest Man but failed to make it past the qualifying rounds due to a back injury. A year later, Samuelsson reached the 2007 finals, eventually finishing in 5th place. However, after failing to make the finals in the 2008 World's Strongest Man contest, Samuelsson announced his retirement from competition after 14 years competing in the sport. He achieved a 31 podium finish making him one of the all-time most successful strongman competitors. Torbjörn Samuelsson (Samuelsson' brother) also competed in strongman competitions between 1996 and 2002, winning Sweden's Strongest Man twice and competing at the World's Strongest Man 2000-2002. The World's Strongest Armsedit Samuelsson is specially noted for his exceptional arm and grip strength. In the 2003 Colin Bryce documentary 'The World's Strongest Arms', together with fellow World's Strongest Man champion Svend Karlsen, Samuelsson demonstrated world class feats of strength such as performing bicep curls with 140 kg (309 lb) for 4 repetitions, bench pressing 270 kg (595 lb) for 2 repetitions, unofficially surpassing Andrus Murumets 121.1 kg (267 lb) rolling thunder world record, three times with lifts of 123.9 kg (273.2 lb), 126.1 kg (278.0 lb) and 129.6 kg (285.7 lb) and unofficially becoming the first man in history to close the IronMind Captains of Crush No. 4 gripper (165.5 kg (365 lb)/ RGC 213 of pressure) for two reps. Following year, Samuelsson officially closed the legendary gripper under official conditions and to this date remains one of only six men to do so.

Magnus had the world's strongest arms. He had a background in armwrestling before he became a strongman. He was the 5th person in the world that was able to close a CoC #4 (165 kg), and he did it without the use of his little finger as his hands were too big to fit all finger on the gripper handle.

Magnus was a beast in the late 90s and 2000s. He came into strongman in 1995 as a top 10 in the world level armwrestler. Weaker than the likes of John Brzenk but still elite. If he hadn't retired from armwrestling in '95 maybe he could've been the #1 guy a few years later. Heck, even the 2005 strongman version of Magnus may have secretly been a top 10 level armwrestler. He was a lot stronger than he was in '95 for sure, just no longer focused on armwrestling

There were some events which were tried but were not kept in the list of events that could be in. The armwrestling was one and the bar bend was another. There may be more. I think the problem with the armwrestling was a) the break that happened and b) it requires multiple rounds to separate the competitors. Most of the events are allocated points based on weight, number of objects, time, distance, so normally two go at the same time, but all the competitors can be compared.

I remember seeing worlds strongest man arm break. It totally grossed me out. And I think they removed arm wresting from worlds strongest man events because of that. Just remember. None of these guys were trained properly on how to arm wrestle safely. That is the problem.

Well I watch a lot off KZfaq stuff and there is a dude named Scott on Kentucky ballistics I believe that he could be trained to be a hell of a competitor dude survived a 50 bmg explosion to the face and lung and got better benching like 475 no problem after being split open for surgeries. Magnus gave Jones a spiral fracture. First, Nathan was going through the other strongmen like a hot knife through butter UNTIL he ran into Magnus. He was utterly stunned, shell-shocked Magnus defeated him not just once then I think it was the second time around he brake Nathan's arm. I do not know what his weight is now, but last time I saw him he was around 155 kilograms and maybe a scintilla over 6 feet 7 inches. He trimmed down a lot for that dance contest which he by the way won the whole thing, it was called Let's Dance which was Sweden's version of Dancing With The Stars and he is now 54 going on 55 next December.

I would ask Ken McLelland, if he wants to try armwrestling. His hands are not as long as Felix´s monster hands, but they are thick for days. There is a video "biggest hands in strongman" where they stand and compare. Ken is in excess of some 330, and used to be 370, but he carries it so well, it doesn´t look like it. He looks 270-300, shape wise. He is an accomplished Masters strongman. For those onboard the "hand train", look up "Felix's hand's, grip strength & CoC grippers critique", where the never aging vampire Mark Felix shows his hands. He tries a very badly setup CoC 3, and a dynamometer with really far apart handles.
