What is the compatibility of SolidSteel to SolidWorks? Does it only works with the latest version of SolidWorks?

Wayne Ho You need SOLIDWORKS 2018 or later to run SolidSteel parametric.

Do we need to put in the dimensions manually or it generates itself with the part drawings?

On the part drawings the dimensions are placed automatically! SolidSteel parametric does not use the „auto dimension“ tool of SOLIDWORKS - the software placed just the dimensions you really need for manufacturing.

Thank you for the reply. I am thinking of switching from Autocad to Solidworks. My job involves doing fabrication drawings for steel structures. Hope it does the work.

Depending on the way you work. You can use the SOLIDWORKS FEM modules or your can use the SDNF Interface of SolidSteel parametric to work with external solutions for structural analysis. Its planned for future versions. Today you need to use the standard SOLIDWORKS functions for that.
