I found Jelly Roll about 10 months ago, quite by accident, on KZfaq. I have never heard anyone who can put into words, exactly how I have felt for most of my 53 years. I have always felt ashamed of what is down deep in my soul, because the church seems to be uninterested in the pain. It’s always “give it to God,” and it will all be ok. For the first time, I no longer feel like I am not good enough for anyone, especially God. Jelly Roll has brought me so far from where I used to be. Unhappy, sad, suicidal, worthless. I am in therapy and she has helped me understand why I am drawn to his music. The exact words do not apply to me, but what it means is everything. We have taken the lyrics and gone through them to really help me work through the feelings of unworthiness, anger, brokenness, fear, rejection. And it has given me a clarity and acceptance of these feelings and no longer being ashamed of my story. People may not believe God can use this music to heal those He loves, but I am convinced Jelly Roll is living his purpose by helping broken people heal. Thank you Jelly Roll and Struggle Jennings.

Finding Jelly Roll and Struggles music saved my life and is the only reason I’m still here. Sounds dramatic but it’s 100% true. I had a gun in my mouth and I started paying attention to the song ( Can’t Go Home) and for some reason that song stopped me and motivated me to take my life back. Thank you all

Hi friend I hope you are doing well ❤ can’t go home is a deeply meaningful song for me too. I was on drugs homeless and wasn’t allowed to go back home. My grandfather had just died and he was a roadie in his younger years and was there when the animals recorded house of the rising sun (no bullshit google Tappy Wright Rock Roadie) so imagine my soul when I hear that song saying things that related to me and my life and struggles. I’m celebrating 3 years sober and Jelly’s music is the sound track to sobriety. I’m glad you fought back and your demons didn’t win. I’m proud of you & happy you are here ❤

Drugs are part of our society they actually help the wheel spin until flunkys turn junkies and need attention. You need help when you run out of money or get in trouble. I hear you. I feel it. In 2019 my closest homegirl bought what she thought was Xanax and Oxy from some dude none of us knew. She died. She was only 38. We had plans to be old bisshhhes 😂 together. This song got me through that time of losing her. It would bring me so much comfort. All I could do was play it over and over on the way to work and back.

Hes right beside you. My cousin and my good friend both died by suicide in Feb 2019 and April 2019 and I know just how you feel to hear a song and wish they were there. I feel the same way when I hear certain songs. He will always be right beside you and know that he is hearing every word just the same as you are. My thoughts and love are with you. Hugs.

All these years, and this song still hits me. Physical and mental pain has followed me this long. When I hurt, this song helps me to purge out all my negative feelings. At the same time, I find the positive affirmation to keep going. This song depicts a person, going through the same shit I am. To still see that the character, in this song, is still alive. I can only think, "If this dude can make it, long enough to tell his story, then so can I.

This was the last song my sister sent to me. We had begun rebuilding the inseparable relationship we had as children but became estranged over the years. We always connected with music. She said this song described her better than any other and I completely agree. She went missing on November 6th three years ago. I listen to this very often and it pulls tears every time.

I feel that. I went through the same thing yesterday. Realized it'd been at least a couple years since letting any of that shit out.... So when it started it just rolled and rolled until finally I felt like i had healed myself of all that pain I'd been carrying and stacking on top of myself for so long. Shedding tears is a healing experience and can really be necessary to keeping yourself healthy mentally and emotionally.

April 2021 I will be 10 years clean. I never thought it possible. My oldest daughter remembers too much. It breaks my heart. She tells me how much it taught her. How proud she is of me. We lost her dad to an overdose shortly after he was released from prison the last time. My first baby, looking me in my eyes with that kind of pain, it's something you can't prepare for. Our son doesn't remember him. Sometimes I think that's a blessing. Sometimes it breaks me. He introduced me to Jelly back in 08. Every song y'all sing is like it's my life. Like you wrote my story. How'd you know what I've been through?! Keep it up. Keep fighting the good fight. You're doing good things for people who want to be good.

Finally, being adequately recognised and awarded for sharing his pain and struggle also. For both sharing their stories and struggles. That has helped people long before being a household name, and it was just us "trash." lol mean that in a good way, we're and still are living and breathing this music. And in life because of this music. This will always be a favourite of mine, too. I don't think I can really choose. He can't make a bad track of he tried.

Thank you SO MUCH for this song. It has been a very special song to my husband and I for the last couple years. This was the main song we played at my husbands service a couple weeks ago (he passed unexpectedly a month ago) he had done 15 years before we got together. Your music was so close to his heart and helped him deal with how overwhelming getting out was. If you had not made this song we would not have had an absolutely perfect song to honor and celebrate his life. Words can not even Express what an incredible gift this song is and the special place it will always hold in my heart.

Jelly and struggle, this song is one of my favorites. I know life isnt always fun or easy. Nothing in life is easy. The best things are free and sometimes you have to wait for those things. Several years ago, i was fghting to get my children and not want their father. I ended up loosing my children, but with the help of this song, found my way back to my husband. Hes an amazing man that grew up in a different world than what i knew. I did things i shouldnt have done but i didnt meanfor things to happen how they happened. Keep these songs coming!! I've loved watching Jelly Roll grow through his music as I was.... I was bumping jelly back when he was singing about partying doing pills and getting fucked up which is exactly what I was doing for 10 years w oxy coce and meth, to dealing with addiction and loss then coming to terms with himself...it's something all addicts go through when confronted with getting sober and it's beautiful to be able to see your struggles and triumphs and then to add inspiration into your music...
