The only struggle with owning a Staffie is some other people's attitude to them. Lovely dogs.

Our little Staffy is now 12 and finally beginning to slow down a bit, she has never caused us the slightest anxiety, and needed little training. She has developed her own way of dealing with nervous people, she simply goes upside down, it is difficult to be fearful of a dog that is on its back waving its legs in the air, and this has won her many friends. She is also almost double jointed and a great escaper, but she only does this to show off. The first time I took her to our local charity dog show, I wondered why so many people were laughing, then I noticed that I was holding a lead and an empty escape proof harness while she was sat leaning slightly on my leg as usual. How she did this without me noticing I will never know.

Brilliant video, definitely worth owning, once you can be a responsible owner, we have 4 dogs and all 4 are a pleasure to own however our amstaff is two in January and even though she is a sweetheart,the work never stops with her but this means we have a very lovable, social dog.

I love dogs and have owned many breeds , large or small. BUT, I often will cross the street from an unknown dog, especially if I can't tell the temperament, or if I have one of my dogs with me. This gives me distance to observe them. I have to disagree with pointing out your dog's breed for a reason. There are those like me that are cautious ( there are so many untrained dogs out in the world), or they are just plain scared of dogs. I have people cross the street from me when I would pull my crippled yorkie in a wagon(assuming she was unrestrained).

@@jrm2716 I can understand your caution your right there is so many untrained dogs and so many owners say there dog is friendly .I am so sorry to hear about your Yorkshire terrier i love all dog breeds big and small .and yes definitely observe body language my boy is always on a lead he only goes off where no other dogs go in a secure field .he was attacked badly about 8 week ago by another bull breed he was on a lead the other dog wasn't i think we can be the best owners in the world but can't account for the idiots who don't train there dog so I do understand you being more careful as I am .I mainly mean people cross the road who don't have their dogs with them .my boy does not look scary one bit hes only a little lad his tail is always wagging I think there is maybe not as many animal lovers out there 😘

I love Staffies but if your going to include the American Staffordshire Bull Terriers in the video about Staffordshire Bull Terriers then you should include the American Pitbull Terrier also. All three breeds come from the same root stock originating in England and Ireland. They are all great with people if true to type and all have high prey drive and need to be well controlled around other dogs and animals. Not all are dog aggressive but if challenged by other dogs they won't back down. One bad encounter with an aggressive out of control dog can make a dog friendly Staffordshire, dog aggressive.

I got a pure American Staffy puppy from a local rescue when he was just 2 mos. old. I wasn't sure what to expect, as all I'd ever had before were Bloodhounds and Beagles, but this pup has been a pure joy to have! He's got to be the SMARTEST dogs I've ever had, and he's every bit as BIG of a BABY as my hounds. He's very, very strong, but he listens so well. The only issues I've had are with ignorant people....and the fact that this dog won't allow me to brush his teeth, lol.

Nothing about the owner taking a strong hand and making sure he/she is the pack leader and not the dog..thats the 1st lesson u need to learn because if u let these dogs get away with anything,your in trouble.

Why are half the dogs in the videos not staffies?

Hi, I have a question about these dogs. My family is thinking of fostering a Staffordshire Bull Terrier female called Vivian, but we go to India every summer, and we will definitely travel if it is a family emergency. Do you think it is still fine, because there is till half a year till Summer, and someone can still adopt her.

Hello, I own a staffy and honestly, I wouldn't foster any dog at all if you plan on travelling so much and leaving your dog at home. Don't take it the wrong way though. Dogs and especially Staffies, are loving and dependant animals. When I leave my own Staffy for a few days with my boyfriend because I visit my family, which are only 1h away, my baby is anxious and misses me a lot. He doesn"t have separation anxiety, he just hates being away from people he loves and trusts Also, leaving a dog in a new environment each X months can be hard for them. Staffies can adapt to a new environment pretty quickly but it's still an unpleasant experience for them (as for other dogs) and once they settle in one environment, it is really not advised to change them again So tbh, consider fostering or adopting a dog only if you can take them anywhere with you because as their family, you all become their rock and they heavily rely on you on an emotional level (as well as for food....)

So stop showing negative images ... You are perpetuating the Stereotype ! 🤦‍♀️
@StaffyDog
@StaffyDog 5 ай бұрын
Thank you for your feedback, and I truly understand your concern about perpetuating stereotypes. The intention behind showing that scene is to emphasize an important message: it's not the dog, but the owner that influences behavior. This portrayal was meant to highlight the impact of ownership on a dog's behavior and challenge the stereotype, not to reinforce it. I'm passionate about educating people on the importance of responsible, compassionate ownership, which makes all the difference in a dog's behavior.

Lumping Staffordshire Bull Terriers (Staffies) in with American Staffordshire Terriers (AmStaffs) is like lumping Ford F-250s in with Ford Mustangs because they both have Ford in their name. They differ significantly in size, temperment, looks, health and probably many other traits. I adore all Bully breeds, Staffies most of all.

Absolutely! They are indeed separate breeds with unique looks and temperaments. However, they also share some similarities. In this video ( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aNSAn8lnqMCZe4E.html ), we dive deeper into the fascinating world of the five breeds that originated from the Bull and Terrier.
