I hate they do that to. As many people in this world that need stuff. Dollar General will cut there stuff up and then pour bleach on it so people can't get it. I know I had to do.that one time. But I put it in my car and took it.to a women's shelter

Frr, I would help cause that is ridiculous of how much stuff there is, and they thrown it away instead of donating it to the people in need

A lot of shelters would love to have a lot of that stuff….homeless shelters, women’s shelters and some of it could be donated to storm and fire victims if there was a pantry-closet to take those.

Shelters, schools, rehabs, and so many places could use these items! To see them in dumpsters really makes me mad. I'm glad you're out there saving items from the landfills! I hope you make something off it!

Yeah I’d give those to shelters and food & clothing donation centers and places that help single parents with babies.

This is why we are paying way too much for merchandise. They just raise the prices of the new merchandise to make more profits to make up for discarding this stuff.

My mom posts online when we have clothes and stuff in local communites that we don't want so anyone in need can come get them. once had a grandmother get a whole trashbag or two full of clean clothes that no longer fit my brother for grandkids she took care of. she couldn't afford clothes for them. my mom washes donated clothes so they can be put away once taken home by the person getting them. my mom doesn't drop those things at a thrift store.

dollar general stores don't care if you take something home when it's gonna be thrown away. my friend's mom worked at one and would have full garbage bags to take home to her kids and other family members. sometimes even nighbours got stuff from her because she wouldn't throw anything that could be saved away. just stuck it in her car at the end of the day.

reminds me of a time my parents went to to a landfill and brought home big boxes of those little containers of bubbles that kids would blow and we kept some and some were donated. don't know why would they waste so many working usable bubbles in little containers they could have donated for kids to enjoy. my parents always bring something back if it can be saved at the landfill when they go. one time it was a bunch of doll clothes for babie dolls that i cleaned and repaired myself that some kids got for free. another time it was a whole toy remote control car my dad repaired and gave to my cousin. just a little battery corrosion was the issue with the remote control toy car. my cousin once found a 1960's wooden kids piano at a landfill he worked on and repaired. the piano was even taken to a place that works on pianos to make sure it sounded right. didn't cost much to fix that piano.

Did you make it home without loosing any off of truck? That was so unbelievable how much stuff over the 3 or 4 days was tossed. Ridiculous really. Bless you and others for saving all you could. Wish I could but disabled and know have cancer.

A little bit late but anyway.. Around 8mins in he does state that 'donations will be going out' and from that I assume he will be making 'care packages' from this haul to hand out to those in need or donating larger quantities to local charities. Which, in my book, is just as good if not better than calling other divers to share with. The fact that all this stuff was binned in the first place is absolutely shocking. As others have said, I understand from a companies viewpoint it's not cost/time efficient for them to parcel it up and donate to local homeless charities etc. but surely someone could have contacted even one charity to say they were clearing it and to come and collect anything useful? It's sometimes a sad, sick society we're living in, for sure 😭😭 On the plus side though, we do get some good content.
