About me:
Hi, my name is Theo Mutesa. I was born in Rwanda, but like many Rwandans, my family fled the country in 1994 and we eventually ended up in the Netherlands. That is where I grew up and lived for the past 20 years until 2019. That’s when I moved back to my motherland to follow my dream of opening my own gym and help contribute to the development of Rwanda.
If you would like to support me and/or my business here in Kigali, please donate to my crowdfunding campaign.

You and Wode Maya and people like that inspired me to move to Rwanda, I'm now 4 months in and loving it. I'm in the process of building a business and having my Nigerian gf move to Rwanda and join me. I left the UK and have no plans of going back... other than to maybe renew my residency because of the value it has. Otherwise, no thank you. Rwanda and Africa all the way.

Congratulations Theo! All praises to The Most High for your union. The scriptures say a man that finds a wife has found a good thing. She is beautiful and I pray y’all find many years of blessings together as you grow in time. I saw the videos about land and home hunting and I was wondering if you could explain what the process is for foreigns. In other countries I’ve seen there are certain criteria’s like you don’t really own it’s a least for 50 years and so on is it that way there? Also, I noticed that the properties they show for sale usually is like concrete all around with a small area in front for “gardening” is that norm? Is the farm land separate from residential? Can you not have land space around your home? Hopefully you can find the time to get to these questions. I do appreciate your time and hard work. Thank you 😊

I had that exact same eye issue yesterday! 😄 I think the wet season brings more allergies. Totally agree that adulting is overrated. Cut yourself some slack and do more of the things you enjoy. Whatever brings you happiness, even if that's watching Netflix in bed with a packet of Pringles. And you don't have to go out to socialise - embrace the art of the dinner party, and get people to bring a bottle, you don't have to do the Rwandan thing where you invite people so you have to pay for everything. Nights in with friends can be a lot of fun. Movie night, board games, just hanging out in the garden when it's not raining. A friend of mine built a pizza oven in the garden and we make our own pizza. Therapeutic and relaxing.

Congratulations on your marriage! I know big weddings are part of the tradition in some cultures. But in today's world where things are getting super expensive couples may have to cut back on extravagant weddings, and save some money to start their new life. I guess after all the festivities are over reality set in.

Hello, I have a serious question for you. I’m Congolese by nationality and I want to come to Rwanda for doing business probably even stay there definitely one day , but you know for the moment the relationship between our two countries is not in a good position… could you please advise me

To do a business in Rwanda it does not ask you to be a conglese,And no one cares of if you come from DRC or anywhere . You can do your business 24/24 hours without any problem. You can buy land here you can marry with Rwandan even if our countries relations are not good. The problem is for Rwandans to live in DRC but Conglese to live in Rwanda it is normal and some of them come and buy houses immediately. Rwanda is busy to attract investors .

Marriage is something that takes understanding on both sides. Which is difficult because of the different way the genders think. Here in Australia it's getting less common amongst whites and rarely lasts, or culture having been poisoned by extreme feminism and selfishness and consumerism. Hopefully with guidance from parents and others you will make it last. My sister says if you make it past 7 years, you're going to make it forever. She's married 15 years now. I'm kind of surprised that you've done so well with the gym, considering many people there wouldn't see it as something they would have the money for. I suppose it's very different in a developing economy where people are starting to become wealthy while others are still not earning much. It causes an effect called a split economy, where you can live where basic things are cheap like your living costs, while being able to earn far more. The wide gap between earnings and living costs can cause LONG TERM wealth that can be passed onto future generations. We earn a lot here in Australia, but for example my property taxes are about US$2500 a year and some people pay double that. So you earn a lot but then it's all burnt up on living costs. My situation has been quite good purely because of the things my family done in the developing days of this country (they bought 12 farms but wete later are sold, except mine and my parents).

Hilarious. Marriage is a 9 out of 10, the 9 is because marriage just too expensive. We had 5 kids and i have to tell you, they are a better investment than anything else. When you get old, stuff doesn't make you happy but children do!
