Opened for Stryper on many occasions . They are the real deal and the nicest guys you could ever meet. They are totally approachable and engaging. Not to mention they are a lot of fun to hang around with.

Back in the 80's my late wife and i loved stryper, I sang this in 1990 when I proposed, she didn't know what I was gonna sing on karaoke stage, knew i was gonna propose that night but some reason did it in stage, shocked me too

Yeah that's the cover story but it was a song to his wife who unfortunately passed away and he remarried very right away under suspicious circumstances but yeah Lord forbid you should bring that up otherwise Tim Gaines gets kicked out of the band but you know it's okay if one person does it but if another man of the band does it apparently it's not good. It's a syrupy sweet ballad you can hide behind Christianity all you want to but it was clearly made with a boring vanilla straight relationship in mind. Though I shall say together as one still beats it in my book

I have a story! I went to their concert in the 80’s! It was the BEST! It was my Senior year in high school. I bought their “To Hell With the Devil” t-shirt. I wore it to school the next day. I was sent home to change my shirt!!! Man, I was not happy!!! I still can’t believe they made me do that!!!! LOL I could listen to Stryper all the time!! Love them!

I had the same thing happen to me. The principal tried to kick me out for wearing my THWTD shirt my dad came to the school and was like you allow all these other shirts you can allow this.

I feel like it was referring to God's view on us. God saying "I love you, can't you see. That I love you honestly and will never betray your trust in me". Michael is very spiritual and they make Christian based music and lyrics.

Talk about memory lane! Even though I was a child back in the 1980s, I had not heard this song in years. It brought back some tears of joy and peace. Yes, "Honestly"" is a love letter read from God to each of us on this crazy, ever confusing planet of ours. "Honestly" is an echo of Hebrews 13:5, "“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

I was so happy to see you react to this song. I got married in 1990 and we danced our first dance to this song. Married thirty one years, this song brings back so many wonderful memories, so thanks for that.

I do love Stryper music, I don't come to it from the same place they do, but still respect them for it. This was a song expressing their love of God to God from where they were coming from, The real awesome thing about Stryper songs is they could be applied secularly as well.

Fun and funny fact. I saw Styper perform in high school in a club in Rhode Island along with another Christian metal band called Mass. My hair at the time was almost as big as theirs lol.

I love this song by Stryper. It came out on their To Hell With The Devil album in 1986. Great band and song. Only God can say I love you honestly. That's what it's all about. Well done!!!

They use to sit behind in church when I was a teenager back in the 80s I was only 15 in 1984 now I’m a mama of two son’s they also did a concert for my dad high school back in 1985 it was in the city of Pasadena my father design the concert tickets they are awesome guys I love there music ❤️🥰🌹

Honestly is the GREATEST ballad ever. Stryper was the greatest band in the 80s and has always been the GREATEST and they'll Always be the GREATEST! Radio stations need to play Strypers music, let their Listeners hear Strypers music and choose for themselves!

This song deals with your Heavenly Father and how the LORD will always be with you no matter if you have fallen and walked away he will always be there for you waiting for you to come back to HIM and ask for repentance of your wrong doings. Also it makes good for wedding songs for the one you LOVE as well!!!!

STRYPER was my 1st Christian Rock I was actually Allowed to listen to mostly cuz my religious mother wouldnt let me use my natural God given talents to go for a Life that WOULD'VVE put me on the big screen, instead she made me at 12 yrs old go work HARD in the Bush with a power saw and Skidder. I got paid $15/hr Cash money in 1985 for doing this but the money I Could've done making it BIG on TV I coulda done so much good with it, but oh well. I did it for Daddy, my late Daddy of 5yrs now. I Love you Dad...Honestly...........!

One of the best, and most underrated vocalist in rock history. Because Stryper sings with such Positivity, and about God, they are not considered to be a serious band by so many. To me, talent is talent, and personally, I would much rather listen to Stryper, than some other bands that I won't mention. Lol. Great reaction Jayy! 🤘😇

Outstanding 80’s hair band. Biggest difference between them and all the rest? They were a Christian Rock Band. Now,to many that would make a difference, but to me, growing up with them, they ARE one of the best of that era. Their songs revolve around the religious beliefs, but, yes, this is one of the best songs from the 80’s. Oh, what am I saying, it’s one of the best songs of all time.

They did a secular album in '90, called Against The Law. Then everything from then on was mostly Christian, but some secular music mixed in on their albums

Because they are Christian band they never got popularity to their counterparts did in the air. But this one song sent them from planning clubs to playing in arenas. They went from Gold records to platinum records with this song. That was according to Michael sweet the singer in different interviews
