I fist had the pleasure of staying in Stuben back in the early 80's in September as part of an 8 day trip for motor racing fans, the highlight of which was a few days at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. I was a travel courier for the F1 GP's and was able to return to Stuben 5 or 6 times over the next 10 years or so. Austria is such a beautiful place, but the Arlberg region is utterly stunning. We stayed at a hotel, don't remember the name, owned and run by a couple called Werner and Gerni (apologies for misspelling). He had a fantastic culinary reputation and had the pick of catering students from a well known catering college. Being the courier afforded me certain treats, Werner would take me down to his very old wine cellar to sample (a lot!) of his ageing wine. Apparently, as he told me, "Stuben" is the 'old' German/Austrian for 'room' (zimmer?). This wine cellar was the first single roomed building in the area as a shelter for anyone travelling on foot over to, I think St Christof and St Anton, long before roads. That building is now, I'm pretty sure, the hotel in the bottom left at 0.31 seconds.
