Wasting no time with this 2024 Skidoo XRS Comp Turbo, gotta see if the go to studs fit with the BIG 9 tooth 2.86 drivers!

Agreed, studs are too long for that application, and they will find out the hard way!

That 2 piece drive shaft will be the Achilles heal for these skidoos

Several of us are definitely worried about that thing long term. Especially the 900T guys that are gonna turn those things up. Wondering how long it'll be until there's a one piece conversion/retrofit setup...

@@MunsonMotorsports For the Summits (assume but would have to verify on flat landers) you can install the older part number or fit a TKI brace kit apparently which looks to work on all G5's, Mountain Sledder Garage has a video about chain case issues which goes over which seems pretty reasonable.
@MunsonMotorsports
@MunsonMotorsports 8 ай бұрын
@@Aspired329 I'm 99% sure the TKI kit does work on the flatland rigs, it's a great piece like everything they do! I'd still personally prefer a 1 piece shaft. Just dug into it the other day and am glad to see you can indeed run the 21/22 one piece shaft. Not sure where the demand for this 2piece unit came from but it's not anything anyone in my customer base wanted lol.

The way I was taught was to only have studs 1/4 higher than lug
@ntwtransam
@ntwtransam 7 ай бұрын
has that track been shaved down or something? The top of the lugs look as though they have been flattened out
@MunsonMotorsports
@MunsonMotorsports 7 ай бұрын
Nope! Must just be the camera/quality making it look a little goofy as it's a stock unmodified track aside from the studs
@jimberglin1613
@jimberglin1613 7 ай бұрын
Is it really necessary to be so much higher than the lug and risk catastrophic damage. What happens when the track balloons. Big risk with a high priced machine. Why not go a little shorter with the studs they will still perform just fine.

Awesome sled! I was thinking of trying the 9T drivers on my sled. Would it be possible to post the part numbers off of the individual sprockets here. I would like to order a pair.
@MunsonMotorsports
@MunsonMotorsports 7 ай бұрын
I could take a look for you next time the sled is here/in the shop. I checked my footage but don't have anything clear enough to grab numbers from. You could also use the Avid 9T extroverts, I've used both the intro and extrovert 9T 2.86p drivers from Avid with great results.

Thanks for the reply. I just got the part numbers yesterday! It's easier, and usually cheaper to get BRP parts in Canada than parts out of the US. The Avid parts are good quality for sure! @@MunsonMotorsports

@@peterdenouden4836 Glad to hear you found the numbers you needed! Are you getting just the drivers to retrofit onto an older one piece shaft?
@peterdenouden4836
@peterdenouden4836 7 ай бұрын
That's correct. I am going to build up a separate shaft assembly and keep the OEM unit as well. It's kind of an experiment with my stock 1200 engine. @@MunsonMotorsports

@@peterdenouden4836 That's the way to do it! I've always bought a second shaft off ebay and had two setups. You'll like the 9T, the 1200 makes the torque to pull them up top, for average trail stuff I didn't see major gains in speed doing the big drivers on 2s applications, 4s gained for sure, but 2s it was more efficiency/fuel mileage that I noticed (even after an appropriate regear)

@@totheduals pretty sure with 8 tooth drivers a studded 1.75 would fit
@MunsonMotorsports
@MunsonMotorsports 9 ай бұрын
@@totheduals It'll be close with the protectors but I think you'll be able to do it, however same as with these 1.64"ers, it'll be high speed braking and track tension that'll most likely be the problem. If my maths is right, the 9T driver has a diameter of 8.19", the 8T is 7.25", giving you a difference of .91". Divide that by two and you have .455" extra clearance from driver to protector (or tunnel if you remove them) going back to an 8T driver.

Hahaha I knowwww. I got a quote for a Snap-On equivalent (actually have one in my car/race hauler) but couldn't justify the pricepoint at the time after just starting the business. I expected this HF unit to have blown out a drawer slider or caster by now, but it's actually holding up surprisingly well.
