Dad loved Studebakers'. We had four during my teenage years. I learned to drive on a 53 Commander V8 stick shift. Never forgot that car. He even let me cool it up. 3" lowering blocks, spun aluminum Bonneville moon hubcaps, glasspac duel exhaust. I only had my learners permit at the time, but boy that was fun. Last one I remember was a 57 Golden Hawk with the Packard V/8 that he bought for 'Mom'. Just in time for me to be the head of the "crew." I still consider to be it the first muscle car. Aluminum engine turned dash with Stewart Warner gauges, Golden cream two-tone paint, it was one cool ride.👍

VERY enjoyable video... THANKS for the post. Spending a half hour with a bunch of broken-knuckled Aussies is a load of fun! My grandfather was a Studebaker dealer, I have always wanted one; I'm running out of time.

Raymond Loewy was an out and out genius. Apart from all his other achievements (in and out of Studebaker). I believe he loathed radiator grills, pleasingly no one decided to put one on the Avanti. Fine video; thanks!

I've always liked Studebakers. I'm amazed at how well represented Studebaker is in Australia!

That Packard was beautiful! I began to think I wouldn't see it, then at the very end, there it was.

My first car was a 63 Lark Cruiser, I so regret selling it. I was in the Brisbane Studebaker club in the early 80's. I remember Herb Rose was the man to see for parts and knowledge.

That’s packards equivalent to a Studebaker golden hawk. Very rare.

The coolness of owning a Studebaker... an AVANTI, no less... makes up for pronouncing it "Uh-VAHN-tee".
