@@PXR5-PXR5 9 times out of 10 you leave them alone, they leave you alone. But if they don't leave you alone... it seems counter intuitive but the trick is to lead them slightly behind their current landing point, not in front.

On Colbert Report when he has guests he has a segment; getting to know 'name'. When he asks the question 'What is the most dangerous animal?' no one has replied 'humans'. I personally find that strange.

@@PXR5-PXR5 Agreed, bullet vs wasp, I am betting on the wasp and would not want to be anywhere near that showdown. There is always the “run just a bit faster than the next slowest person” approach, but that still has risk of a wasp being wise to that trick:-)

that's a pretty good story, a nice change from the grand wars of genocides or enslavement. i like how it's basically "what a nightmare world" for all species and humans are basically "A bit hostile, but I kind of like it !"

I love how this one, again, shows the difference in thought patterns. The scientist doesn't have any conception of someone who would willingly choose to be prepared for battle in the way a human soldier is, and so can't even question the ones around him being anything other than scientists. Mind, this IS a death world right here, with the constant vegetation attacks and thus, the constant ADAPTATION of the wildlife, which results in the biosphere we see here. Earth built tall with its species diversity, creating a series of steps moving upwards in the food chain, before it fell back down to the beginning in a cycle. This one built wide, where each individual species is, in a way, a predator of the others. A well realized alien biosphere.

@@RequiemPoete He's part of a Xeno-Biological studies team, he says this isn't even his first rodeo, and while this planet is the worst, we've seen others in this setting, such as Miayin 4(The one from Bloodsports). You NEED protection from these things, as studying wildlife in its natural habitat would involve leaving behind the safety of cities and barriers. Heck, ESTABLISHING those sites would require being there without such protections. And this person in this can't even conceive of someone willing to do these survey missions who wasn't interested in the science of them. No concept of guards or soldiers at all. It's a different kind of thought process.

Similar to 'Deathworld', by Harry Harrison. Better known for writing 'Make Room! Make Room' (Soylent Green). Deathworld or Pyrrus was a world only crazy people went to. However Pyrrus was deadly in thousands of ways and the humans that lived there had a scorched earth policy and very quick reflexes. Every human born on the planet or visiting, needed a bootcamp. many hijinx ensued. Another good book is David Drake's 'Redliners' A military expedition to rescue colonists. Love this.

Oh I still remember their pistols. Arm mounted holster, springs to your palm the MOMENT you make a correct hand shape, shoots rocket propelled ammunition and NO SAFETY, as on their world it would be a liability. Actually sounds like smth I would own if I had the money.

I was listening to this as i was walking home. I laughed out loud when the alien scientist was describing that only 4 of the human expedition were wearing white suits, while the rest wore bulky black. Now I know why their own expeditions where a catastrophic failure. 😂 Ahahaha

We are carnivores. Our appendix was genetically engineered out of us 200k years ago when we were created. 46 chromosomes and a brain that knows no limits. We became a threat to our creators. We are still watched to this day. At the highest level we are contained on this prison planet. Our only chance is unity. Unity is what our creators fear the most. United we are unstoppable. Humans must be controlled and contained at all costs. We are a genetically created abomination that once united and unleashed will spread like a virus to all parts of the galaxy.

This is seen from the point of view of species which are all herbivores not used to carnivores so they exaggerate that the humans are carnivores.
