It features pianist Jason Long, bassist Bennie Sims, drummer James "Biscuit" Rouse, saxophonist Elan Trotman and Matt King on Hammond B3 and the Nord. It was taped on April 18, 2015. I absolutely loved that! What a great groove and the sax player had a terrific sound. His lines were the best. Everyone played fantastically.

First time I heard this I thought "man that's just beautiful," but after following along with Elan's phrasing and transcribing- it's a master class. I listened to it a dozen times and picked up a new grace note or another inflection or syncopation that I missed every time through. It's all so smooth and effortlessly played. Great track!

Wow. So good. That tenor player nails it. The music really captures the joy of the song's message. For any unfamiliar with the lyrics, there's a beautiful version sung in Sister Act.

Can't beat jammin with the pros! So glad I found this channel yesterday...Looking for Mercy Mercy backing track, and all these gems popped up...Elan is so fabulous (well they all are aren't they?) but being a horn player thats who I gravitate to the most...

Gosto da música e tocava Viola Clássica na Igreja que frequento, fiquei doente dos braços e tenho uma admiração pelo o Sax e atualmente toco a frauta doce que aprendi com a escala do Sax, é muito bonito ver todos tocando, cada um fazendo a sua parte na musica, e que o nosso DEUS possa vos abençoar bastante.

Hi, tried to send you an email, but it bounced back. I am learning sax and discovered this number with Elan Trotman playing "Oh Happy Day". Have you ever considered releasing the track as a backing track, ie: without the sax ? This could be a great resource for learning sax players to play along with, I think. I have searched far and wide and have not come across a better recording, in my humble opinion.

He is playing in G but because he has a 6 string bass with a low b string. It looks like he is playing in C but with a low B string the second string is the E string so he is playing in G.
